Are you an ASIA C or D injury? If so, you may want to explore one of the post-rehab intensive exercise programs. None are cheap, and they require not only a significant amount of money to attend, but often moving to a specific location for a while you are in the program.

Do you currently stand daily? Have you had bone density testing of your legs? Both would be critical to move in the direction of trying to ambulate again. Pool therapy (standing and attempting walking in the water) can also be invaluable.

Well first off thats great but , shouldn't you been try to do that sooner. My injury is c5,6,-7th incomplete total feeling through out my body but ive been walking on a walker for 15 years now . It's going to be along road ahead of you , your going to have to get your muscles to wake up and come to life . Pool therapy is great ,so is walking on a walker a little at a time and make sure you streach too . If you have YMCA in your town you can look into that .

Have you contacted SCI Step in Ohio? They offer a free one-week trial.

Do you do much standing?

Can you get with a PT in your area and see what you can accomplish? Don't be afraid to get pushy. I joke that I used to be a nice person before my son was hurt -- I'm still nice, just nice and pushy.

Do you have full-leg braces (KAFOs)? That's what my son started using.

Water therapy is also good.

We developed an intensive exercise program for my son with the help of his PT, this site and carecure.org folks and that has really helped him.

Best wishes.

If your bones, etc. are in good shape, check out an RGO (reciprocating gait brace).

Have you checked out the NeuroRecovery Network Program?
