Getting back your life.

I finally got back some of my previous life. My daughter and grandchildren took me to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. I called when I got there and they took the barrier down that said FULL in their parking lot and let me in with style. Almost the entire museum was wheelchair friendly and the staff was extremely helpful. I felt at home and comfortable and not as if I was in a chair.

My New Year’s resolution is to do this more often. Don’t be afraid as I was; let’s try to get part of our life back

Happy 2009 everyone.

Great story! Thanks for sharing . . . what an inspiration! Same thing happened to me when I went to a Cincinnati Reds game last summer. The lot said full, but they waved us right on in and we parked next to the elevator . . . free of charge . . . everyone in the lot had to pay $15 to park there. The new Reds stadium was very handicapped friendly. I can hardly wait until next year!

God Bless & Happy New Year to you too!

Very good to hear these stories. I am slowly getting back to my life. Going to concerts last summer was the first time back since my injury. It was a blast! I had missed it so much, and I know the boys really missed going. Also went to a hockey game this past month, and that was really enjoyable. Nervous as can be, but it went so well.....keep gettn after "it" everyone, its time to live again!
