i have had something on my mind for some time and just wanted some feedback, i thought this was the perfect place to start. my son had a spinal cord stroke prior to birth leaving him paralyzed from t3 down. i (like all of you on here) have busted my buns to get things moving in the right direction for him. my question is - are there any of you out there who had a injury from birth? if you have, has anyone ever offered to do a fundraiser or help with the obvious modifications, equipment, etc. for you? im just curious if family members, friends, etc. feel that since the injury was from birth that you "accept" it better or it is not as much of an issues as someone who has an accident and is instantly thrown into this world of paralysis? i think we all have the same concerns, worries, and trouble finding help. does this make any sense? im just amazed at what my husband and i have had to do (i dont mean that in a bad way because we would do anything for our 3 children), and have had friends and family stand around and watch us struggle.
thanks for listening.
