My mom no longer has a job and my medical bills exceed the Mississippi Medicaid I am currently on. For the first time in my life, I had no medical insurance when I had my car wreck which left me paralyzed T8 down on 12-8-07. It is overwhelming for my mom who has been searching for additional financial assistance or someone
willing to get me to other SCI centers which may have the equipment needed to see if my nerves can be stimulated to help me walk again.
We are involved with The Mississippi Dept. of Rehab.
and the SCI waiver. They are limited on what they can do but we are willing to do what it takes to at least give this a try.
Any Suggestions?

I am sorry to hear that your mom no longer has a job. Times are hard and seem to be getting harder. Call the information specialist at www.paralysis.org to see what they have to offer. They will sent you a list of grants and any resources in your state that may be of help. There is one that helps you get nonprofit status, so donations are tax deductible.
Also check with your local SCI peer support group. www.spinalcord.org can direct you to see if you state has them. I wish you the best.
