Diaphragm Pacer for Vent Dependent People

0 Recommendations

Wanted to share great news about the diaphragm pacer that my friend had implanted recently. Hoping some of you can benefit too! He is a C1, totally vent dependent. He went to University Hospitals in Cleveland for the surgery. It was outpatient; the device was implanted about 6 weeks ago -- he started pacing the next day. He is now living 22 hours with no vent! It is so nice.

He contacted the company, filled out the form and the surgeon's staff called him that week with a surgery date. It was a very fast process. It is nice when something goes smoothly. The staff Univ. Hospitals was terrific.

If you're interested, you can go to the company website: SynapseBiomedical.com. They do the surgeries in many different states -- but Cleveland was the most convenient for us. Hope some of you can benefit from this.
