CAn't Be Tamed! Quad/Walk-A-Thon

1 Recommendation

Thomm Morgan, the man who walks for those who can't, is going to walk for Troy Sept. 6-7 from Troy, Mo., to Troy in Pacific/Eureka. About 50 miles in 24-hrs.
In conjunction with this Troy is organizing a Can't Be Tamed Quad-a-thon...walk-a-thon at Rt. 66 State Park, Eureka, on the 7th., with everything ending at a yet to be determined location for an evening of music. We've never organized an event like this before and any help would be most appreciated.
The Quad-a-thon participants will have a choice of helping either Troy's Angels or possibly the Wolf Sanctuary. We are working on getting the sanctuary aboard with the idea.
We would like to have as many quads/paraplegics as possible participate with their families/friends in the event. It's a chance to show the community that handicapped people can still do things to impact their world...Can't Be Tamed!

The Wild Canid Center is onboard. The event is going to be at Kircher Park in Eureka, MO., on Sept. 7 [Labor Day], from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We have sponsorship sheets available for anyone who wants to participate. Just email me at ladybyrd046@yahoo.com.
There will be music by Therese-Marie, Midnight Theatre and Thirteen A Cross throughout the day. Food and will be available.

Clarification: Thomm will attempt to walk 50 miles in one 24-hour period--the route is yet to be announced. The 50 miles from Troy, Missouri, to Pacific, Missouri, have no safe walking path or median that I have found. I may still walk that route as part of the "Can't Be Tamed" theme of Troy's event. However, I am walking to draw attention to an amazing young father who is paralyzed, but still learning how to waterski and play the drums. I'll keep you posted!
