baclofen inducing disphagia

0 Recommendations

over two years ago i had a spinal cord tumor resected and resulted in paralysis. in rehab i was given baclofen. i just got out of the hospital for dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) but none of the docs could find a cause.
i read in a few places baclofen can cause dysphagia. i definitely got off the meds.
anyone else experience this?

Dysphagia Paralysis Spasticity Baclofen

Interesting I am/was on baclofen 10mg 4 times a day. There are a lot of side effect from not hungry to sleepy. So I stopped, but i remember someone told me that if you are not on it don't start. And slowly back off if you are on it. But I not like a regular person, my system seem to process everthing faster than regular people. IE, water goes in and out in less than an hour.

I take baclofen for over 2 years and I've noticed is a decrease in hearing, if not directly related but I got the dosage was 70mg a day for spasticity in a spinal cord injury

My son takes 30mg four times a day .. I notice he gets a really dry throat with this stuff and is always trying to clear his throat. They told us that this medication relaxes the muscles and that it can relax stuff in the stomach as well and cause gurd issues. His increase hasn't helped his spasms much so we are looking into other alternatives.. even talked about a pump.
