Please let me now if you have used or know of anyone with SCI using the self truing mattress to prevent bed sores. My wound care nurse totally dismissed it!
Thank you

i once had a bad sore. til i got a cushion shower chair, cushion toilet rise and bed rails. ever since i never got a sore, i learnt to do my pressure relief and also the cushion roho seat pad for my wheelchair but i do suffer from good sleep and thinking bout getting a memory foam cushion to find my peace. i hope you heal well but know that if you need a low air mattress for support get it.
Sammy...

Thanks for sharing, my bed sore was discovered in Oct after they released me from TCU to rehab facility. After two surgeries and much too much bed rest, in rehab facility! it finally closed up two weeks ago and now I'm home. I have one "good" arm and depending on help with turning side to side, as for pressure release I depend on my electric chair when I'm out of bed. I have the basic air overlay with alternating air pressure feature and Roho cushion for my chair.
The incurring about the Self Turning Mattress is to reduce dependency for turning every two hours and of course avoid a nasty bed wound. Thanks, VXA

Ialso had a bad bed sore when discharged to rehab facility. Had surgery and spent months in bed. Since I can not turn myelf at all, I got a micro Air Turn Q mattress. Have had it for almost 5 years now and am very pleased with it. Along with that and a Soho cushion, I have not had another bed sore. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thank you, I'll look up the products you mentioned and goes without saying...must best wishes to you too.

When I was in ICU, they had me on a bed that rocked me from side to side. I stayed bed sore free...

Check out the attached web site. This is the turning bed my son has (C4/5 complete) which allows him to sustain some of his independence without having to have a caregiver turn him every 2 hours at night. Sometimes the healthcare system has no idea, as he was told he didn't need it either. Take care of you, #1
