Anybody know where I can get a IBOT 4000

0 Recommendations

Hi everyone I just got approved financially for the IBOT 4000 and I find out they are out of business. I fought my workers comp for 2 years and finally won out. An low and behold the company is done. I called them to see if they would make me one since I had the authorization and they said no. I have tried to find one on EBAY, Craigslist etc... for the last couple of weeks, No luck I am Bummed. I tried out the chair a few times and loved it. If anybody has any info where I might find one that's new or barely used please let me know. Now I have to find a chair that will do most everything I want. Also any suggestions for other chairs would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this post any help would be appreciated. Bob

It's amazing that you finally "won" and now find you cannot get your "prize." One has to wonder when your Worker's Comp people found out the company was out of business? It seems too good to be true, otherwise, from them, when they are always saying "no" to those things that likely make our lives a little better.
I don't understand how anyone with heart can work for any of those government agencies that seem to have "denial policies" and are mostly out to save their money, not to help the people who MUST pay into the system, whether they will ever benefit from it or not.
Many people in need of such help must give up the fight before ever "winning" that which they should have had to begin their new lives with. I know I have little energy for the everyday stuff and none for any kind of emotional hassle on top!
I sincerely hope you can come up with the IBOT 4000 or a very similar or even better chair.

Hey Henry,

I was just reading another post and saw a link to :
www.paragolfer.eu ---- I know this is not what you are wanting, specifically, but perhaps they or the person who posted about it (Paragolfer on this site) could help point you in a good direction since your previous search did not work out for you this time. "Paragolfer" says he teaches golf and is himself paralyzed, I believe, but where some are getting up with help, there are more waiting to try. I hope there's another "chair" good for what you hope to use it most for.....

Good luck!

Bob,
I can so relate to your ordeal as I too have to deal with workers comp and when I finally got them to pay for my hand controls and lift for my van the lift was no longer available despite being still advertised. I even paid for one, but never received it. I got lucky and found one not too much more and my brother-in-law installed for me.
I know there are other chairs that do similar stuff, but you see them when you are not looking for them. The paragolf that was mentioned is one and http://www.thestandingcompany.com/ this may be another option. Have you checked with the information specialist at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. They can give you resources of places that may have something. Also check with the United Spinal Association www.unitedspinal.org They have some wheelchair specialists that may be of help.
I do hope you find something similar that will fit your needs.
I saw on curecare.com that someone was talking about the Ibot 4000, but I doubt if someone was selling one that workers comp would buy it.
Best of Luck

Permobil also makes a stand up chair.

so does Levo (swedish), and of course there is redman. I don;t know if IBOT would allow you to actually stand or not, but the act of standing is what is really useful for bones and muscles, not to mention other psychological advantages
