I enjoyed resting and spending time with Dad this weekend. We are OLD movie buffs and watched Inherit The Wind (for the 10th time, at least) and are puzzled why Olivia DeHavelin (played Prosecutor Brady's wife, but he called her "mother"), isn't listed in the credits. I've searched everywhere on the internet and can't find out why. Curious.
Cancer is a very ugly disease. It makes you feel ugly, it makes you look ugly, it does ugly things to your body (like surgery scars, puffiness, fatigue, weight gain, then loss, aches & pains, nausea, etc., etc., etc.) BUT, finally shaving off the last remaining, ugly strands of hair left after the ravages of chemo, empowers you. It gives you back a small bit of control over your body and helps you to feel like "Ahaaa!! take that you stragglie, skimpy hairs. Most of you abandoned me, but I will whisk the rest of you away with one swift swipe of my triple bladed, ultra sharp, pre-lubricated super duper razor!!!" I know because last night I decided it was time and I took Larry's Super Hero razor to em! Pow! Zap! Bop! And the good guys win again!
Radiation went well Monday & Tuesday -- a little nausious, not bad. I should be done with Radiation Nov. 20th, then resume chemo (5 more) Nov 23rd. and be totally finished by March. The oncologist said I'd start feeling better after radiation and feeling great after chemo. Then she said the four words EVERY cancer patient wants to hear, "You WILL be cured." All praise to God and the power of prayer! I pray that anyone touched by this terrible disease receives the same or better news.
