Hi all,
I had a laparotomy, tumor debulking, hysterectomy with bso, appendectomy, omentectomy, biopsy of intraperitoneal nodules and left groin lymph dissection on the 13th of October.
The good news is that there was no ascites when they opened my abdomen, : ) and stomach, intestines, liver, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys and stomach seem to have no tumor involvement.
What a wonderful thing to hear.
The only bad news is "The extraperitoneal space on the left side of the pelvis was densley adherent to hard fixed lymph nodes involving the external iliac artery. Despite extended efforts these could not be seperated from the vessels. There was concern that the vessel wall itself was involved by the tumor in the lymph nodes."
They had to leave this and are hoping it can be controlled with more chemotherapy. I will start chemo again in about a week with more taxol and carboplatin.
I am recovering from the surgery well, I think, mainly sore from the two incisions and getting the bm's under control.
Overall, I am very happy with the news. I feel incredibly lucky and am sooooo thankful for all of the prayers.
