Please check out this website! On November 15, 2009 there is a 5k run / walk called Run For Her to raise funds for ovarian cancer research at the Women's Cancer Research Institute at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

I was told by the event coordinator that 100% of every dollar raised by the event goes to research and that they have 16 researchers working on ovarian cancer projects. He also told me that their facility has the largest tissue bank sample for research and that sometimes other institutions (such as Dept. of Defense and Memorial Sloan Kettering) contact them for samples to use in their research.

If you live in the area, please come out for the event and bring your friends. If you don't live in the area, please consider making a donation, and ask as many people as you can to do the same. Or better yet, please register as a sleepwalker and have your friends donate in your name. Let's help these wonderful people who are trying to help us!

It's the 5th anniversary year this year. Last year was a great event and I think that it's getting bigger every year.

You can look for me, I have a team called BB's Posse. Feel free to join my team or to start your own!

Thank you in advance!!

This is wonderful Brandi! I love the Sleepwalker idea. Good luck on the run.

Brandi,

I registered as a sleepwalker. Trying to turn that map to all teal!

Thanks for posting this. I sent it to my son who just moved to LA. Maybe he'll actually move out on it!

My mom worked at Cedars for years and her coworkers and other employees she didn't even know were ridiculously generous in donating their personal days for her when she had breast cancer and then later PPC/OVCA. I imagine that same generosity will come out from those people for this as well.

Best of success to you.

Thank you ladies all for your support! We are only missing 4 states, Wyoming, Iowa, North Dakota and West Virginia to have sleepwalkers in all 50 states. Please sign up!!!
