Hi Everyone...Just met with Duke doc for 2nd opinion. She will base her decision on what the CT shows tomorrow morning. Docs here in Raleigh said pretty much the same thing. Docs here said if it was localized they would do another debulking surgery...removal of bad area, lymphnodes for testing etc. Then chemo, of course. Duke doc said if it was localized she would just take out that area...not the whole debulking surgery.. and start with chemo. So, at this point I am praying that the spot is just one spot. She said today it could be from where they had the port in me for the laprascopic surgery, I guess that is a common area for recurrence.

Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers and posts...means the world to me.

Love, Kim

Who was the Duke Doctor? I love my Duke Doctor!!!

So it's a mass in your abdominal wall and not a lymph node or something like that? Good luck tomorrow. Will hope for the easiest answer.

Hi...Duke doc is Dr. Secord...met with her at 8am today. Wonder if we passed eachother? :)Kim

Hi, yes it is about 1/4-1/2 inch under the skin in the wall/muscle I guess.

Dr. Secord is my most favorite doctor in the whole world, she is truely a great person! Na I close the place down in the afternoons!

Good luck. Keep us updated.

Good luck, let us all know what happens

I, too, am a patient of Dr. Secord....for almost 4 yrs now. :-)

HpnNC7...maybe I will see you at Duke while we are getting chemo sometime. What day do you go?

I will be there this Friday...Oct 30 at 10am (Dr. appt)
and chemo after that. I normally have chemo on Thursdays though. This is a 1-time thing on Friday.
My name is Heidi, btw.
Good luck!!

Hi, I was scheduled to be there Fri for my first chemo but now I am not sure. They are trying to work out whether the vaccine trial I was on is going to delay starting chemo. If I am there, I will look for you.
:)Kim
