Are you still wondering if you should attend this year's Ovarian Cancer National Alliance
12th Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.?
Here are 10 reasons why you shouldn't wait any longer and register TODAY!

1. For first time attendees, there will be an opportunity to attend a Newcomers Gathering which will give you a chance to meet others who are attending the Conference for the first time too. We are also launching a Newcomers Buddy System which pairs newcomers with conference veterans. (Monday, July 6th)

2. We are presenting an array of Nationally Recognized Featured Speakers including Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank and Chef Laurey Masterton. (Wednesday, July 8th)

3. We are hosting a more in-depth and informative Clinical Trials Forum featuring speaker William Patrick McGuire, M.D. and exhibits from leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies, cancer centers and universities. This is a great opportunity for ovarian cancer patients and their loved ones to learn more about how to get involved with clinical trials and discover the various options that are available to you now. (Tuesday, July 7th)

4. For our Partner Member community, we are planning a Partner Member Leadership Summit that will help unite our efforts nationally as well as learn how to make a stronger difference within your local communities. (Friday, July 10th)

5. We are organizing a variety of Workshops, Social and Support Events for survivors and their family members on timely issues about living with ovarian cancer. Furthermore, we are presenting a series of Lectures from Notable Clinicians and Researchers in the areas of clinical trials and new or emerging technology and treatments. (Monday, July 6th to Wednesday, July 8th)

6. We are offering Conference attendees the opportunity to share their unique stories about overcoming ovarian cancer by participating in the "Legacy Corner". The goal of the "Legacy Corner" is to support the Conference theme - Celebration of Life - and chronicle the many compelling stories of survivors, advocates, friends or those who may wish to pay tribute to someone they lost to ovarian cancer. (Monday, July 6th to Tuesday, July 7th)

>> Email Kristy Herron at kherron@ovariancancer.org to learn more about the "Legacy Corner" project and submit an application.

7. We are planning a memorable and unique Remembrance Ceremony featuring singer Consuelo Costin to honor those we have lost to ovarian cancer. The Remembrance Ceremony is a time to hear the voices of our community - women who live with the disease, loved ones of those who are gone and people personally touched by an ovarian cancer journey. (Wednesday, July 8th)

>> To learn more about the Remembrance Ceremony and how to submit an original writing essay to be included in the program, email Liz White at lwhite@ovariancancer.org.

8. We are planning our annual Lobby Day on Capitol Hill for Conference attendees interested in meeting one-on-one with their elected officials and staff to share their personal stories about ovarian cancer as well as ask for support on a number of Federal efforts that are essential to conquering this disease. Space is limited so be sure to register early. Registration deadline is Friday, June 5, 2009. (Thursday, July 9th)
