Sorry to hear your sister has to join our club. I hope she is doing okay.

This IS my main support group. I trust these ladies. They are positive, supportive and even fun. They help you through the rough spots and hold your hand when you're scared. And you don't even need to get out of your jammies to connect with them. Tell your sister to give us a try. She won't be sorry.

As lifeisgrand said above, this is a great group for support. No comment or question is too silly or too serious.

She can try her local cancer center - most have cancer-specific groups - or the local American Cancer Society. They all usually have programs.

Sorry your sister has to go through this but please send her very best wishes and tell her to be a fighter.

Hi,
Besides the support I receive from my OvCa sisters on this site I belong to a cancer support group sponsored by my local Wellness Community.
I searched your state and found these:

This site is the best support for me. No question is off limits, or too silly. You can pour your heart out anytime of the day and someone answers in a short time.

I'm so glad you found this site Tonya. I myself was diagnosed just this March and am 37. I also live in CT and would love to talk with your sister if she would like to connect to someone locally. My email is: ohmama123@hotmail.com. Unfortunately, I have found only one support group for ovarian cancer and it is in Madison I believe (too far for me to travel, but I can get the information if that would be helpful!). I did find a support group through the American Cancer society, however it was an 8 week long teaching support group, so I have not been to one since. Have you checked with her oncologists' office to see if they have information? I know the hospital my dr's office is affiliated with has a support group for family members, and it may be something you yourself may be interested in looking into. My best to you & your sister, and again, please tell her to email me with any questions or just to have an ear... Take care, Kristin

(And thank you to Lisa (lovemnms) for referring me to your post! I would have missed it otherwise!)
