Summer

0 Recommendations

Summer is here and after so many months of chemo and surgeries it would be so nice to look and feel healthy again.

Have any of you considered the self tanning lotions out there? My concern is that the majority of lotions are mostly chemicals....is anyone familiar with any lotions that are more natural?

We feel better when we don't look so pale....

Also looking for a website that sales hats with ponytails attached.....I am ready to get out there and walk and enjoy summer......

Thanks for your help.

Don't know anything about the self tanning issue.

I think there is a website called hatswithhair.

After reading up on the Johanna Budwig protocol and
following it for about 6 month until my stomach could not handle it anymore. Sun is very important for cancer
patients. 20 min. per day without any sunscreen. The
body needs a lot of Vit. D and sunlight is the best vit. D
available and of course it is all natural. If your skin is fair,
sit in the sun early in the day and avoid mid day sun.
Build up slowly and you should be ok.
Hope this helps.

I've always had a great tan in the summer, but this year I'm more about being smarter with the sun. More and more they are realizing the benefits of vitamin D and many of us are deficient. I just try to spend a little time each day in the sun. Im not dark tan but have a healthy sunkist glow now. Feels good after being so pale and grayish while being treated.

I am a huge fan of self tanner. I use it all the time. It helps to make you look healthier and I always feel happier when I have a bronze look. I buy over the counter brands. I like the Neutrogena micro-mist spray. It is so easy to use and everyone compliments me when I have it on. It looks very natural. One of my favorite quotes is, "Just because you are sick doesn't mean you have to look it!"

My Doctor told me not to use the self tanning lotion.

I am a "white girl" and my fanny is even whiter. No offense intended here. There is not enough spandex to hide my "butt in the front" left over from all the surgeries. I am what I am and I guess there will be no "dancing naked under a full moon" activities in my immediate future!

I try to get a little sun each day. I use a 30 sunscreen and last week I felt so good after chemo I sat in the sun and swam for over 4 hours. No sunburn and have a nice little sunkist glow

I was told not to be in the sun because of the steroids I was given. But I do self-tan. I think people are surprised when they see that I don't look sick.
