Hi All,
I just wanted to update you about my surgery that went so well on August 31st. I was home in 5 days due to the fact I didn't need a colostomy. I already went to work for 4 hours on Monday. I'm progressing well. I do have some unusual digestive symptoms that I hope are temporary, and shooting nerve pain in my thighs. Outside of that, I am doing well. I will hear from the doctor on the 22nd to see if we are just monitoring with PET scans, or doing chemo. I'll let you know. Thanks again for all your prayer and support. You are all in my prayers!

Krista,
So glad to hear you are doing well. I think the doctors always try to prepare you for the worst and hope for the best. I am glad it was the best for you. You returned to work? God Bless you. I don't think even to this day, 9 months after my surgery, I would have the energy to work. It exhausts me just to walk through WalMart. I would imagine your doctor will continue will chemo. I had the HIPEC followed by 18 rounds of chemo. The following Pet Scan showed I still had cancer activity so I am on Doxil monthly and hopefully that will shrink the tumor. Maybe more surgery in the future. The HIPEC is wonderful and in addition to that I had IP Taxol and Cisplatin but the little buggers were hiding somewhere. You have been through a lot and I pray for you and all the ladies on this site that are going through this couragious battle. Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi ChiMom,
I only worked 4 hours on Monday. Although I was tired, I felt a lot better than I have on chemo. As a dental hygienist, I am sitting for most of the appoinment. I am not sure I will go back on chemo...even if there is activity. So far, my cancer has always been in the same place and is confined. I just want to feel well as long as I can and be me. That's my goal. I did want this surgery so I could start fresh. But we'll see. I'll never say never, but I just finished 12 rounds before my surgery that allowed the cancer to come back. So, I'm not real sure how effective it is for me. god bless you on your journey!

Krista - Any further update please. _ I am looking at this for my wife Christine who is 58 and has had Carbo/Takol but her CA125 has risen again so they want her to have CArbo/Caelyx. I am interested in IPHC - HIPEc - HYPERTHERMIA - We live in Northampton England.
Any information would be very much appreciated. Regards, Roger.

Hi,
I just had my PET scan on Thursday. Unfortunately, they found a 2X2X3cm mass has developed in the 8 weeks since my surgery. It is in the exact same place. That was my 4th major surgery since 2006. They did a biopsy on the tumor they removed and it is chemo resistant. So, we are going to pursue radiation therapy. I am still glad I did the surgery, but I guess adenocarcinoma is very aggressive. I am so glad they are suggesting radiation because I was wiped out by 12 rounds of chemo in the las 13 months and I didn't want to do any more. They are not doing a lot of hyperthermia in the states. My cousin is a doctor who worked in Germany for a while, and I asked for it under her recommendation. Good luck and God bless you both on your journey. Feel free to contact me with updates on Christine. My email is KristaRDH@msn.com.
