I sent this message to all my friends and I thought but wait a minute I had forgotten ya'll. So here it is. On this profound day in history I have renewed faith and hope for America! As most of you know I am not very polically inclined but this is a magnificent day for our country. I wanted to bring everyones attention to this website that has been set up for us to write in our ideas, stories, suggestions, comments for change.......

I am a sucker for this country. Will spend times today with tears in my eyes.I was set up to be. my grandfather read me the constitution as a small child & gave me my own copy when I was five for a birthday present. My Mom had asked him once what Nationality she was . You are an American and blood has nothing to do with it . The only blood that matters is that which was shed so that you might live free. She was seven.Mom told me she was in high school when the subject came up again & he had a discussion with the teacher about the paper on immigration. It was decided she would write a paper on Russian Jew migrations. My Grandfather was Swedish he was reading about programs and decided it was a good thing for her to know.I doubt there was a single Russian Jew in that corner of rural Illinois.
I often think of him at this time . And know how proud he would be of us remembering he's an American and not looking at his blood.
Oh my but I am sentimental today.
God Bless You all and special prayers for this man who will be President & this country that may be down but is never out.

I posted on the change website asking for more research funds for ovarian cancer.

I cry @ parades, grew up with my whole family crying @ parades. My Mom was first generation born here in fact her brother who was born in Europe remained there all his life. My Dads parents were also immigrants, so loving this country as the land of opportunity was deeply instilled. I am so proud of the US of A right now I cryed all day yesterday. A friend had a celebratory dinner last night for Obama! It was so fun and everyone there felt so "high" I just hope this feeling lasts, even being out and about yesterday everyone was so talkative, friendly and excited. Obama has already united America! When I write my story to Obama it will be for OVCA. God bless Obama!

I posted also asking him to remember that it is the US of America and not the them and I . To be the caregiver to help us all get back on our feet.

OMG - I thought I was the only one that cried at parades! LOL I get teary eyed when the Anthem is played as well. I don't know what it is, but oh boy does that patriotism flow freely.

I wish Obama well and good luck. He has a lot on his plate, and unfortunately a lot of garbage to take care of too. SOMETHING needs to change and soon, the very basic needs are at risk for most people.

My dad was first generation born here too. His parents were from Poland.

Take care everyone.

I have often thought that the I should open up the Kleenex kiosk at parades.

Happy to know I have fellow parade criers! Most of my friends do not cry @ parades and have always made fun of me. Most of my friends did cry on inauguration day though. I am proud to be an American always but especially today, I was mostly embarrassed under the last administration. Starbucks I think thru the 25th of January is making it easier for folks to sign up for community service (without having to be jailed!)@ there locations and will give you a free coffee. I'll just copy the story I read.....see better already.......Starbucks Coffee wants U.S. consumers to jump on president-elect Barack Obama’s volunteer bandwagon and pledge to join one of his community service corps.

Obama and incoming first lady Michelle Obama want Americans to do community service the week of his inauguration Jan. 20. and commit this year to one of his so-called national service corps that will do volunteer work in schools and related to the environment.

Starbucks said it will offer free “tall” coffee beginning Wednesday through Sunday for customers who fill out community service pledge cards at the coffee chain’s locations.

Starbucks wants customers to commit to five hours this year for community service and volunteer programs.

“Five hours is just 25 minutes a month for a year, two afternoons at a food bank creating care packages, a day reading to children at a hospital or in a park planting trees,”

P.S. If ya'll have HEB grocery stores close to you ...they have the best brand tissues!

I was very thankful Bush was not up for re-election. I was under the firm belief that we could not survive another four years of another Bush administration.

I cry now as well, Icry because I firmly believe 3 years and 8 more months of what is currently happening to the political structure of this nation will be the complete undoing of everything I grew up to believe in.

I prayed for the change we can believe in as did many others but this is not the change I was praying for.

Yesterday, I was at a PSU game and at halftime they brought a group of young people onto the field to be sworn in as new army recruits.

They received cheers from 70, 000 people. Also when the regular army members were announced they too got a roubust cheer!

Lovemnms,

You were at the Blue-White game ? We were going to go, but we had our neighborhood yard sale and I had so much "stuff" to sell. I am a big Nittany Lion fan (and PSU alum) and we have season tickets. So, if you will be going to any games in the fall, let me know and maybe we could meet.
