Rats...CA125 is continuing to climb

0 Recommendations

I had treatment #9 yesterday of low-dose Taxol. Along with my weekly CBC, I had a CA125 test. After completion of 8 Taxol cycles, it is now at 4450, up only 30 points, but still up and at a new high. I am not freaked out, surprisingly, but I am not exactly jumping for joy, either.

I am scheduled for a CTscan on Monday and will see my gyn/onc on Wednesday after chemo. I guess he will tell me then whether he wants to pull the trigger on the Taxol. I think his next choice would be Gemzar.

Surely I can't be resistant to everything!!! This sure is discouraging.

I am so sorry your numbers aren't showing progress...maybe the next one will work LOTS better!!

I'm praying for you that the docs would find the treatment that is best for you that works!! You hang in there!!

Blessings and hugs!!!

Hi Jenn...so sorry, I know how you must be feeling. This is a stressful, frustrating life we now lead. I keep trying to breathe deeply and walk as much as possible...that seems to help some. Wish I had the answer to relieve our minds.

Did you see the results someone posted on the precedent study?

Hang in there.
Love, Kim

That must be very frustrating!!! I wish I knew how to help. I'll pray for peace and wisdom for you. Please keep us updated.

Jennali.....so sorry to hear that you are having a hard time finding the magic bullet that will put you into remission. Stay strong.......

I'm sorry too. It's tough every time we hear this news from someone else. I'll keep praying.

Jennali, just hang in there. I'm sure they will find something that will work for you. I know its frustrating, but try not to let it get you down. (that's easier said than done, I know.) Just know we're all here for ya!

Heres something I can tell you. When I started Taxol I jut did my 10 round today, after round 5 it jumped all of sudden from at the time it was down to 16 and went to 45,5 well yup I freaked out and well they told me not to panic couldbe a even something bacteria in my body, next CA125 went to 5, and kept down, now im on my 10th round and its 9 today, it could be a number of things, like they said try not to let it get to you. Is it flucuating? up and down? If not I hope ell find you something that works.
ill be thinkning of you

I thank you all for your support. This site has been such a lifeline for me.

I just wanted to add my support along with others. I so admire how bravely you are taking each step of each day as it comes. Breathe deeply and go on to tackle the next option.

Jennali,
Don't get discouraged! They will try something else. Wait and see what the CT shows. And maybe the doctor will add to the Taxol, or switch.

I know how you feel. Your numbers are in a completely different range from mine, but that doesn't mean the cancer is behaving any better for me with lower numbers. The past 11 months have been draining - first Doxil, then Topotecan, and now Avastin & Cytoxan. Haven't had a blood test yet since I've only had 2 treatments, but I'm apprehensive. Sometimes I feel they'll never find the right one again, but we can't think that way. So hang in there and see what shows up. Make sure you let us know what happens. All the best.

Dear Jennali,
I know it is scary, frustrating and difficult. But if anything, worring won't help you get better, joy and optimism will!!!
I send you all my Love, courage and know that I will strongly keep your intentions in my daily prayers.
Tuly

Let us know what the ctscan shows. Hoping for the best

just thinking of you and sending more positive energy and support your way.... hoping that your news is good and that they are able to find the right treatment for you soon.

Kristin

Don't get discouraged. I am learning alot with my sister being ill with OVC stage III. She was on Taxol and Carboplatin for 3-4 years and they finally stopped working. Doctor is now trying Avastin. Working a little. Numbers are dropping some, but her main tumor is not shrinking. Just always be your own advocate and make sure you are happy with the way things are going.
