Cancer Appendicitis Surgery Arthritis Pain Back pain Ovarian cancer
If you are referring to pain prior to diagnosis----I had pelvic pain, like seriously painful ovulation, for about a month before I went to the Ob/Gyn. it was pain right where my ovaries were. Yes, the trans vaginal ultrasound showed "something" but they weren't calling them tumors at that point. Never had a Cat at the beginning.....just the ultrasound and then an MRI which also showed something.
I went to the doc after I had my period, and the pain was still there so it clearly wasn't ovulation.

I never had a pain, but when I went to my GYN for an exam, the pelvic was so painful that she could not do it. So, she then ordered an ultrasound and a CT scan. She saw big masses on my ovaries, but we did not know if it was cancer until the surgery. Ovarian cancer is very sneaky.
Assuming you mean prior to diagnosis. I had lots of stomach discomfort and pain for months. My waist expanded even though I hardly ate and always felt full. Had abdominal pain and back pain. My rheumatologist at the time thought it was from the new arthritis med I had started. We fooled around starting it, stopping it, pill form, injectable form, etc., for about 5 months. I had no clue about ovca symptoms and I guess neither did anyone else.
Evenutually I went to my gastroenterologist because I felt so awful and by then had a very bloated and painful midriff. He was suspicious and did a sonogram right in the office. He told me what he suspected and I was totally in shock. But he was great and immediatelly phoned my ob/gyn and sent me directly to his office. He in turn was waiting for me and immediately called the gyn/onc surgeon and got me an appointment for the next day. The rest is history. A pre-surgery CT scan and CA-125 blood test confirmed everything. I was dx in Dec. 2000 and am still fighting.
I had low grade fevers that would occur once a week for around 4 hours, then vanish. After a month of this, I went to my primary care physician who began ruling things out, but ordered a CT scan in case I had an appendicitis -- I did have a bit of abdominal discomfort. That is when they discovered a 10cm tumor on my left ovary.
I had no discomfort. Had a good annual exam with gynecologist, then decided to have one more baby. I was pregnant and lost the baby at 9.5 weeks. I went in to the ER with spotting and they found the embryo and an 11 cm mass in my transvaginal u/s.
I had abdominal/pelvic discomfort for months. Feeling bloaty and extra full after meals was "normal" for me. Then, pain and pressure became worse lower in the pelvis area. Doctors I saw always labeled it IBS...even though my 'bowels' were always pretty normal. In the meantime, I started having a pain in my calf, like a pulled muscle. The pain got worse instead of better. I went to Urgent Care...it was a blood clot. They told me it was most likely from birth control pills. Stopped taking those immediately and was treated for blood clot. While I was being treated I got another blood clot in my other leg...two weeks later. The doctors were sort of stumped at that point until one of them finally requested an ultrasound. A 9cm tumor on my right ovary. Ovarian cancer symptoms are so damn broad and vague, and doctors are so afraid to tell women to be aware of these symptoms because they don't want to create a panic. But ultimately they are doing the opposite by making women feel like their symptoms are nothing to be concerned about. Trust your body...and your instincts!
I didn't have any pain. I felt like someone had taken a 'stitch' in my lower abdomen right 4 inches from my hip and above the crease of my leg. There wasn't any pain. I still have had very little pain throughout the entire 18 year ordeal. Some after the surgeries but mostly after the stupid neulasta shots.
Actually, I had just gotten divorced for the second time and went in to have my tubes tied. SURPRISE! We had NO IDEA!
My abdomen was swollen but I thought I was gaining weight.
