Thanks so much! I have downloaded, scanned info, and will share with my Mom's medical team as well. My mom is just starting treatment after first symptoms a few weeks ago and debulking surgery Thursday (she's still in hospital recovering). Intention of docs to start chemo in a few weeks so I am researching like crazy in the meantime to be as educated as possible to help be an advocate for my Mom. This site has helped so much thanks to women like posting such important info to share with the rest of us! Thanks again. Also, my cousin found 2 groups on facebook that are related to ovarian cancer so another forum that you ladies here may want to consider. I haven't taken the time yet to investigate there since I've been finding good info here so far. Thanks again, Jules

Jules, I'm so glad that you found this useful. I have benefitted immensely from the recommendations from the Pine Street Clinic and I so appreciate their efforts in cancer research and supplements.

I am wishing your mother a blessed path through this illness.

Hi Kathleen, I smiled when I read your response. I'm glad you found this exciting.

Hope you have a wonderful day,
Martha

Martha, I am in remission and doing some of what Pine Street recommends. Thank you for sharing this information. Are you doing all of what they recommend to do? It seems overwhelming to me....thanks..Barb

Hi Barb, I do follow the Pine Street Clinic recommendations. My local acupuncturist refers all of her cancer patietns to the Pine Street Clinic. I get my actual acupuncture here in New Orleans but I fly to California to go to the clinic every 18 months. This May will be my 3rd visit there and I have seasonal telephone conferences with Michael Broffman. He changes my regimen of herbs and supplements seasonally and depending on what is going on with me.

All of this was with my gyn onc's approval to begin with but I don't run the seasonal adjustments by him. I continue to see him (the gyn onc) every 3 months.

Acupunture has helped me with numerous lingering side effects: urinary incontinence and mental focus issues. I've done very well after a stage IIIa, grade 3 clear cell ovca diagnosis in 10/04 and 18 months of chemo. I did go on disability and give myself time to heal from all of this disease and treatment and I think that component has helped me, too.

I don't try to follow all the research or why Michael makes these recommendations. I just go with it! :) I can see that he is "pulsing" the herbs and supplemetns so I am not taking all the same things all the time and I have one day of rest each week with no supplements.

I'm so happy to share this with others, so glad that you are doing some of this, too. Hope the overwhelming feeling dissipates soon!

Blessings,
Martha

Thanks, Martha....I put the info in my alternative/complementary file....Glad you are doing so well...I was 3C with some area of clear cell, but not all over......Had IP/IV chemo and then 12 treatments of xyotax on a trial.... Barb
