Thank you, PLE. I finished my chemo after diagnosis in January but by the time I was done I couldn't tolerate Taxol or Carbo. Now I am on single-agent Avastin. I'm terrified that I will have a recurrence and there will be no treatment I can take, so it's great to know there is another possibility.
Thanks to everyone on the list for all the great ideas for getting through the neuropathy, etc.
smac5,
Avastin is such a promising "killer of cancer" and I wish you the best results! I am on it also. My clinical trial nurse told me yesterday that there are great new drugs coming. I know someone who has liver cancer and the Avastin is eating the tumor!
I'm also on Avastin alone for the same reasons....not able to tolerate Taxol and Carboplatin. I have a tumour in my pelvis and some small ones in my lung. My CA 125 already dropped 100 points from the treatment in one month...it's still high (200), but at least it's coming down. Keep the faith!
