Sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis. I looked at your profile and saw that your wife has Cervical cancer. You did not say which chemotherapy drugs are planned for your wife. I know Cisplatin and Taxol are two of the drugs used frequently to treat cervical cancer. Most woman on this Ovarian cancer message board have received those drugs or similar ones like Carboplatin or Taxotere as first line treatment after Ovarian cancer surgery. However Ovarian cancer is not usually treated with radiation therapy prior to chemotherapy. It would be difficult to compare your wife's possible chemotherapy side effects since she is to receive radiation therapy first and those side effects might be still present when Chemotherapy is given therefore have a influence the chemotherapy side effects. Also the dose and schedule may be different then how the chemotherapy is given to your wife compared to that given for Ovarian cancer. But even with that we understand the mental and physical issues related to chemotherapy.
Inspire has a Cervical cancer message board on here so that you can communicate with others with Cervical cancer experiences.

Wish you and your wife the best.

i believe it will be cisplatin.thanks

Cisplatin is one of the rougher drugs. Make sure she has anti nausea drugs on hand......Emend is one, Zofran is another. Also it can be extremely tough on the kidneys. She must DRINK DRINK DRINK. Make sure she gets IV rehydration if needed.
Best of luck.

Attitude is a great portion. I had to struggle with the fact that this was out of my control. I like to be in control and I finally discovered that I was still in control of my attitude so I worked on keeping my attitude positive. I looked for the smallest positive things I could find. A smile on a friends face. An offer of help. A bright shiny day. I shared my feelings both good and bad and would not allow myself to give up. Depending on others was one of the toughest things I have had to do. I was always the one giving others help. If I didn't feel like eating, I let other cook for my husband. If I felt like resting, my husband did the laundry. If I needed another glass of water, I ask. I also worked with the Doctor to help make the symptoms as easy as possible. She told me Chemo did not have to be painful so I told her everything that Chemo changed and it does change many things.
I bought a wig which I have never put on my head. My head was too hot so I wore a scarf or nothing.....my friends loved it. My attitude was everyone knew I was in treatment with a scarf so why not go bald.
I guess I took the attitude it is what it is and I can not change it so I am going to do the best that I can and enjoy everyday since I don't know how many days I will have. Hopefully, it will be years since my % of remission are very good but life give no guarantees and I don't want to miss any of mine being sad or negative.
