Message of Hope, Kind of Long, Sorry

This year, I remain in a war fighting a relentless disease.
In January, 9 months after surgery and 5 months following the initial round of chemotherapy, I was told that the disease had returned.
In February, I began a new Chemotherapy through a clinical trial. In April, I was removed from the trial because the disease had not been eliminated, it had grown. I took a 2 month break from treatment and began a new chemotherapy at the end of June. A friend told me of the analogy of a tea bag which “steeps” in heat in order to bring out the wonderful taste and aroma. So, as GOD’s chamomile tea bag, I am undergoing this treatment. My signature scripture has become: “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done!” Psalm 118:17. My testimony is as follows:

When the Evangelism Team discussed witness topics, I immediately said I want to testify about GOD’s healing, without knowing that the doctors would soon be telling me that I have advanced disease and to get my “affairs” in order. I said, LORD, please give me something positive to say. First of all, many people who have been diagnosed with Stage IV of ovarian cancer are not even here, so that is Miracle #1. Secondly, I have been asymptomatic, meaning I have not been sick from the disease, just the medicine, for over a year so that is Miracle #2!
Then, GOD hit me over the head with the Scripture from Isaiah 53:5 “By HIS stripes, we are healed! Several well-meaning people have quoted that scripture to me explaining that because Jesus went through physical torture on the cross, that I will be healed and that is very kind of them, but I do believe that is what that scripture means.
Nobody who walks this planet will leave here alive. Everybody in the Bible who was physically healed or raised from the dead, eventually died. People have cared enough to share with me stories of women who had ovarian cancer, went into remission and died of other causes. All conversation about physical healing leads to eventual death!
But the scripture says, by his stripes, we are healed! This scripture is not talking about physical healing, it is talking about spiritual healing which is salvation! By His Stripes does refer to Jesus’ suffering on the Cross, but not his physical suffering, his spiritual suffering.
When he was on the Cross, he took the sins of the world upon himself. And how do we know that? We know that because the Bible tells us, but we also know that because when he was on the cross, He said, “My GOD, why have you forsaken me?”
I’ll tell you why GOD took HIS presence away, because GOD does not DO sin and Jesus was covered in Sin. The Men from our Church sing a song that personalizes this: ♫ When He was on the Cross, I was on HIS mind.”♫ When he was on the cross, he took on my personal sins and yours too.
He took on child molestation, pornography, murder, homicide, abortion, homosexuality, greed, lust, lies, cheating, drug addiction, stealing, ponzie schemes, corruption and all kinds of sin. There was a horrible stench and GOD said, ewww!
Taking on sin was the very reason that my Savior came! Yes, he fed the 5,000 and walked on water and spoke to the Woman at the Well and did all of those important things, but the sole reason that he came was to take on our sins and pay our debt! That was HIS moment! WHY? Because GOD is HOLY and does not get involved with sin!
And because Jesus took on my sins, I am Healed, meaning cleansed, of sin ETERNALLY and that’s forever! This is a spiritual healing of the best kind, because this healing lasts forever! Death is not even involved.
Does GOD give physical healing? Absolutely! People get better all the time. That old scab that you dispose of is evidence of GOD’s healing touch. Before we were born, he made the body capable of healing itself! Psalm 139 says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
10 years ago, my daughter Kofi had cancer, the doctors stop saying remission after 5 “disease free” years of and say cure. Many Prayed for her and HE touched her. And now she is pregnant!
Nine years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The same kind of healing happened for me too!
But by His stripes, I am going to live, spiritually, forever! And that’s what I KNOW for sure!
