Lymph nodes?

0 Recommendations

I have a red thing, it looks like a "boil" under my arm, right under the skin, just came up today. Did anyone have a node under the arm start this way. If I didn't have OVCA I would think it was an infection or a bite. It is about the size of a tiny marble and just under the skin. Anybody have this?

You know when I think of lymph nodes swelling it doesn't seem like a boil under the skin but more of a lump deeper down. Maybe it is just a skin infection of some sort. Don't panic just yet. Get your doctor or someone to check it out for you.

Thanks for the reply. I think it is an infection,,tape was put on the breast to cover shingles blisters when I visited my daughter and the reaction, a month ago, is still a long red place but was blistered. AN allergy to tape. And I think this is from that,,but it is so superficial that I don't think it is a node.

It doesn't take much to get my needle gauge from feeling okay to feeling panicked. But you know the feeling I am sure!!

I had a swollen lymph node at the base of my neck a few months ago. It was not a boil and not red - just a hard round ball under the surface. It went away with one of the chemos I've been on.

Have your doctor check it out because it could be an inflammation or infection that needs treatment.

I had what seemed like boils on my bottom several times after chemo ended. I wonder if it is because of the changes in our immune system from the chemo? For 6 months post chemo I had alot of infections....it took my immune system a good 6 months to recover fully. And I have had alot of odd pains, etc. that come and go. Most recently I started having low and flank back pain and spotting blood. It appeared to be coming from my urethra so I went to a Patient First and they did a urine culture. I had WBCs and traces of blood in my urine so the doctor put me on Bactrim. The first thing that always comes to my mind, though, is that it is cancer related, so I understand your fear.

is it painful at all? Something as simple as an in grown hair can cause a boil-like ball to pop up out of nowhere, especially under your arm or in your groin area where skin or fabric rubs up against your skin. Here's hoping thats all it is! :) I hope the doctor was able to ease your concern.

I also have the allergy to surgical tape and the blisters are terribly painful and take a long time to heal - I feel for you!
