Has anyone heard of lemon grass tea to fight cancer?
Okay, I read many articles about the research done in Ben Gurion University where they found that lemon grass kills cancer cells in vitro while leaving healthy cells unharmed...they found that the citral in lemon grass causes cancer cells to "commit suicide using apoptosis, a mechanism called programmed cell death". A drink with as little as one gram of lemon grass contains enough citral to prompt the cancer cells to commit suicide.
They say to make it into a tea. Now, I am wondering if anyone has heard of this? This has been published in Israel and many people are indeed drinking it.
I am going to continue to look into this as I am most interested in fighting this cancer in any way I can. And the patients there are encouraged to drink it on the days they go in for chemo and/or radiation. Dr. Weinstein from the Dept. of Microbiology and Immuniology at BGU suggested that you put the loose grass in hot water and drink about 8 glasses a day.
There is a farmer in Israel who has studied agriculture who has been inundated with visitors looking for his lemon grass to heal their cancer. So he's started brewing his visitors the lemon grass tea and is also packaging it to sell to health food stores. He has invited medical experts to his farm to give lectures about how the citral works and why. Interesting.
