Lab results are "up in the air"!

0 Recommendations

Well....I got my lab results back Wednesday the 13th.
My CA125 that isn't supposed to go over 35 is 72. So now I have to go back on June 8th for a new cat scan and more lab work. If anything shows on the scan, I start chemo again. And if nothing shows I don't know what we'll do because my # can't keep climbing and nothing show up.
I already said that I didn't want a third summer straight on chemo, but if I want to live I may have to.
Every time I have a cat scan with the dye contrast or chemo my muscular dystrophy gets worse and my back gets weaker from the scoliosis. My spine is curved so bad right now that it feels like my lower ribs on the left side are going to break off my spine. My vertebrae are trying to over-lap and it's got me so uncomfortable.
I don't want to give up and I can't give up. So the only thing left is to keep pushing myself.
I want to be here for my family and friends. I've got to be here for my family and friends.
Thank You ALL!

Dodie, you sure have been going through really tough times not only with the ovca but now it makes your MD get worse and your back on top of that! Just know that I'm praying for you, girlfriend! You do what you have to do for yourself and your friends and family will be right there with you.....and all your sisters on here, too :)

Blessings and hugs!!!

Oh Dodie, I'm so sorry for what you have already been through. Not only do you have to deal with OC but your other medical problems must make it harder for you. What was your CA 125 before this time?.....You are absolutely right-- you cannot give up.

You can't seem to get a break, can you? I'm sorry you have to deal with so many issues - not fun - and I really hope you don't need to go back on chemo. We have all these tests and scans and sometimes don't focus on the toll they also take on us. I hope you get through them with no further problems, and that you get good results.

Don't ever give up. You are a fighter in the true sense of the word, and I'm sure you'll find the strength and courage to do what is needed. We all have to be that way. So we fight together and hope and pray together. Your family and friends are lucky to have you and I'm sure will continue to stand with you. Let us know how you make out. I really wish you the very best.

My prayers are with you. I am so sorry for everything you are going thru. Just remind yourself everyday what you have in your life that makes it the best ever and the answers you need will come to you. We are here for you. God Bless. When my numbers rise, which the seem to always do, nothing ever show significantly on my scans, so I am one to make decisions based on my CA 125, with my doc and families input of course.

Dodie,

I'm so sorry about this news. I'm praying that the scans will be totally clear and that the CA125 will turn out to be rising in response to the effect your scoliosis has on your insides. I don't know whether that is even a possibility. Are your doctors coordinating to try to determine other factors that could be causing the rising CA125?

You are such an inspiration to me. God bless you, and let me know if I can help.

Blessings.

Dodie you are in my thoughts and prayers...I pray that this is just a fluke for you this time and when you go back in June you CA125 will be back in line and that your CT scan will be normal. hang in there we are all here for you
Teresa

I can't even imagine what you are going through. I hope the CA125 goes down and you get a break. My thoughts are with you. peggy

Hi Dodie,

Sorry to hear about the climbing CA-125. That's a Bummer, for sure!! But hopefully, your scan will be ok and the rising numbers may be related to an inflammatory process instead. I know you will make the decision that is best for you. Have you had a referral to pain management for your back pain? If not, please ask your doctor for a referral. The pain management team here have really helped me control the abdominal pain that I was experiencing. So please ask your doctor for help in dealing with your back pain.

I have some issues with bowel inflammation going on now, along with a mass on my bowel. So I have a sigmoidoscopy coming up to try to identify the cause of the inflammation. I told my husband that I was going to run for the hills. But he said he would catch me and drag me back! So I guess we will both just do what we gotta' do, Huh? Hopefully, we will both get some good news and have a good summer after that!
Hang on Sister, there has to be some light in this tunnel someplace!! Please, keep us posted on what you find out. Eileen

Thank You ALL so much for being here for me!
I'm praying that my # has gone up due to the pain from my back/scoliosis. My doctor told me yesterday that as bad as my scoliosis is, the only thing we can do now is just manage the pain with medicine.
My CA125 has never been below 28. My oncologist treats what shows on the scan. He said that he's never treated the # alone. I trust him and we really like him too.
I'll let you know what comes up with the new scan.

Take care & God Bless
