Today there was a blood test....prior to officially 2'nd round of chemo which is on coming Monday.....

I was so worried about some * (star) values and ca-125 values in blood work

My wife had blood test today at 10 am and I already got a call from nurse that the report came perfect.....

No more * in any organs.......- wbc, rbc, plalets and all the enzymes of lever and kidneys are perfect......no more * - it happened so good in last 3 weeks.......

CA - 125 went down almost 5000........

So, next round of chemo is on coming Monday.....

by the next round, I wish, wish, wish and wish, her ca-125 would go below 2000...........

can this happen ? It will be A miracle, right ?

Surgery Hysterectomy

It can happen. My CA125 was only 82 when I had surgery. It dropped a little after the first chemo, but I think it was the third chemo before mine dropped below 20. My lowest was 16. Two years out, my CA125 hovers between 16 and 18.

Hang in there! Blessings to you and your wife.

ca125s can be in the 100,000's. and they can drop by a third a hald and more, if the treatment is working. and god is in charge, so sounds good, like he is right there like always. prayers, sherry

what is the highest CA number you guys have noticed in this site ?

20000 ? 40000 ? 80000 ?
Just curious

You really can't compare one person's CA125 against another. It does not in any way correlate to the volume of disease, just the amount of a particular protein one person's tumors excrete. The number itself is valueless except in comparison to your own values and with her recent decrease that shows a response to the chemo. You've never said what her initial CA125 was.

Miracles do happen! The best to your wife.

Sounds like things are going good for her. I'd say her CA 125 will continue drop throughout treatment. Tell her to hang in there! Wish her all the best!

wonderful news - I wish her continued success in her treatment!

Sounds promising. I know it's scary but that's the new 'norm' for all of us....having chemo, taking tests, anticipating results of same and keeping hopeful.

CA 125 is not a good test for me. Even when my Stage 3 was diagnosed and I had hysterectomy it was only 36. Now with several chemo protocols (cuz the CA recurred twice so far) it's leveled off about 13.
