I will be off line from the afternoon of 10/19 till 10/28. Just wanted to let you all know so you do not think I am off because I am ill or angry with anyone on here. My husband and I are traveling to England. My Mum requested before her death (lived to 92) that her ashes rest with her family in their village (Brickendon, Hertfordshire) churchyard. I have all the necessary paperwork and hopefully will get through UK customs with them--if not at least she will have made to England (Heathrow Airport that is). The UK undertaker and Vicar have been very helpful with the arrangements.
While there, we will be in SE England and Shropshire in the Midlands enjoying sight seeing and visiting with my cousins.
I have waited to tell my cousins about my diagnosis wanting to tell them in person but realized last week that when they see my very short hair they either will catch on right away or will think I have become a senior punker. I wrote a letter to prepare them. The last time they saw my sister (she was 39 at the time) she wore a wig because she was undergoing treatment for leukemia. She only survived another 8 months after that visit.
So cheerio my OvCa sisters.

Shamrock, have a wonderful trip! Just wanted you to know we will miss you. We'll look forward to hearing from you on your return...any you must share with us about your trip. It sounds like there is some bittersweet to the trip and hope that part goes well...you are a good daughter to do that for your mom.

Shamrock,
Thank you for letting us know....I always look forward to your journal entries. It would be worriesome not to hear from you, glad to know that you are on vacation.
ENJOY!!!!

Pat,

Have fun, and maybe when you get back when we can try to arrange another lunch.

Sounds like a very special trip. I hope you have a wonderful time and feel good about all you have to do there. Come home safely!

You are an inspiration to all that are here! Enjoy your trip, your family and a wonderful time. We look forward to great remembrances when you return. God be with you and your family

Hi,

Have a good trip, fulfil your mother's wish, enjoy your family reunion, and get the strength to fight and live for many more years. I think you did well to write ahead. I had the same problem, trying to find a way to tell family and friends - especially those living in another country which is most of my family. There is no easy way.

Waiting to hear your news when you get back

Thanks for the update! This is a perfect time to make your cousins aware of the real symptoms of this disease. I know your Mum would appreciate having her ashes returned to her homeland. Have a safe trip and return home knowing you've fulfilled your Mum's last wishes.
