HELP WITH ADHESIONS & SCAR TISSUE

0 Recommendations

I think I may have adhesions or scar tissue from two previous abdominal surgeries, including my ovca debulking.

I just went back to my doctor and he took another CA-125 test and did an examination, saying he did not feel anything, but I have been continuing to have issues with bowel movements, even though I have been on Miralax every day. I have had on and off pain and nausea.

I would appreciate any comments from anyone who has had adhesion surgery or issues similar to mine. It is disconcerning to say the least!

When was the last time you were scanned - I was having issues with bowel pain and pelvic pain and a scan showed something which the Dr. was hoping was scar tissue, but after yet another scan 3 months later, it was diagnosed as a recurrence. My CA-125 was always below 10. I would recommend asking your Dr. for a CT scan.

I agree with Kat56----I would get a scan. Even if it is not a recurrence you probably want to rule out a bowel obstruction.

I am also having exactly what you are. Nothing showed up in a ct a month ago, but I just had another ct on Friday. I insisted, because of constipation after taking miralax every day and abdominal pain. I am in recurrence now and having chemo every week. I will see doctor thrurs about the scan. His assistant told me the scan still showed small lesions on my liver and pancreas and fecal matter in my colon with some sort of blockage. I had surgery two years ago also. I just wish they will find a reason for my problems.

Thank you all for your comments. Of course, now I am scared I may have a recurrence, but as my husband says, take one day at a time.

My doctor is scheduling a CT scan this week. I will be crossing my fingers that it is not a recurrence. I do think something is going on though, as I have not been feeling myself lately, with the abdominal and pelvic pain and nausea with the bowel issues.

Like I have said before, we know our own bodies, and when something is wrong. We have to be our own best advocates. That is probably the only reason I am even alive now!

On top of everything, I was just diagnosed last Friday with Basal Cell Carcinoma skin cancer on my forehead, which was cut out at that time. I also have pre-cancerous lesions on my hands and forearms. Isn't life fun? Always something...boy, I hate cancer!

I will post my results once I know them.

Thank you!

Angel

My heart goes out to you as you await your CT scan. Ovarian cancer is so tough.
