I can probably speak for all of us, to thank you for writing and sharing your inspiring story. We all need to hear those stories so badly! If you have any hints on what you think has helped you stay in remission, we'd probably love to hear that too!

Hi again ladies, I do nothing special but try to eat healthy pretty much that is and take some supplements. I want to spread hope and encouragement to all. I know all too well I needed it back when and some how did not get it. I got through it and I am very glad to still be here. Keep this in mind my friends....my oncologist told me a while back that some times the body just turns around and does the right things. What does that actually mean? Beats me. I do not think they know either. We are not statistics. Share with one another and never give up. Stay as strong as you can and try your best to stay on the lighter side. Throw that humor in as well. Got me through alot for sure. I was dx. at age 58 and I am now 72. Took the wind from my sails but I have learned how to raise them again . Not easy but we are all sisters in this and we share and care . Sharing a smile with you all here this day. Hugs and be well, Wolfi. PS. Big support hugs.

Hello,
My mom was just diagnosed with stage IIIC yesterday after debulking surgery. She is in the hospital now trying to recover while I am out searching for best treatments going forward. Thank you all for the inspiration! We need it now!
Wolfie/Jan, you mentioned that you take some supplements. Would you mind sharing what those are?

Jan,
Are there are any particular supplements that you have routinely taken over the years that you would
recommend? I take a variety of them, but am always open to recommendations.

Here ya go...... These 3 are very good I think. Ordered through Cancer Nutrition Centers of America. Immunomax, Oximax and EPA max. I took these for a time and now take basic supements I purchase at Costco. Centrum. (multi vit) at least 1000 units of vitamin C, CoEnzyme Q10,flax or a fish oil. Vit. D as well. I also need the calcium as of recently. But you can kinda go over these and read up on them. Maybe find one or two to add to them as I have at times. Never over do . Not trying to promote any supplements here but you asked so I am just giving you an idea and as you can see these boost your immune system. That is a good thing. You need and get most of your vitamins from a good healthy diet. Elderberry is good in the cold and flu season too. Hope this helps. Be well and take care of you, Jan

wolfe...What type of cancer do you have? I looked at your profile and do not see that. There is no indication whether you have ovarian cancer or are in stage 4 of another cancer. We all know the type of cancer makes a big difference in the staging. It is a blessing to hear you are doing so well. Best wishes to you and may God continue to encourage your heart as ou go thru your cancer journey.

Rose 2.....I was dx. with ovarian cancer in Aug. of 1996. Stage 4. I believe tumor grade was 3. I had mets to the liver and prognosis was not good at all. But- after hesterectomy (complete) and then into chemo treatments ( 7, I think it was) mostly taxol, the tumor on the liver was shrunk down to scar tissue like. I was then cancer free and was tested every few months until about 3 or so years ago. Oncologist said no need to be checked by him any longer. I was released. Of course I see my gyn/ surgeon yearly for a going over and have a mammogram each year and all the other things one should do to try to stay healthy. No recurrence to date. who knows with this stuff ya know? I will tell you this....my oncologist did say to me that sometimes the body just begins doing the right things and you get well. Go figure. Oh sure as my primary care doctor says I could get another kind of cancer just like anyone else might. But - for now you are cancer free. I am very thankful. So........there ya have it my friend. Wolfi.....I just read your reply. You are blessed indeed. I would not pick cancer for my life.....but I can honestly say I have learned much on this journey. God's grace has been sufficient and His comfort and encouragement beyond my understanding. I thank the Lord for your blessing. You are right, there is HOPE. Whether , our cancer continues or not. God is giving wisdom to the medical field, and we can all be thankful. God Bless you. And thank you for your reply to my question. ((HUGS))

Thanks for your post. I forwarded it to my Mum who was diagnosed 3c in June 2008 and is nearing completion of chemo. Today her oncologist said that she is in remission. A 13+ year remission would be wonderful :-)
