I am sooo sad. My dear, very special, very knowledgeable onco nurse was killed in a motorcycle accident last week. She was a newbie motorcycle mama and lost contact with the road. Boom!
She always had hugs for her patients, celebratory and comforting ones, depending on need.
Sheryl, 53, is being missed by the entire staff and patients at St. Mary's Cancer Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Next week, I am having my nine-month biiig checkup and wanted to share with her my (hopefully) good news.
Sheryl guided me through the entire chemo process last year.
Rest in peace, Sheryl!

Gabriele, my heart goes out to you for your loss. It just made me think of my main chemo nurse Mary. I know she is truly an angel. She takes care of me as if I am her sister or something and she is my age. She use to take care of pediatric cancer patients but had to move on to save herself if you know what I mean. I would love to buy her something for nurses week. It is this week???

Hi DKE47,
Nurses week is officially May 6 (Florence Nightingales Birthday) through to the 12th.
I sent my Research Nurse a small Edible Arrangements fruit bouquet and a larger one to the Chemo nurses.
