Golf Benefit for Ovarian Cancer

0 Recommendations

Has anyone had any experience giving a golf tournament/fund raiser for ovarian cancer? Did you have teal ribbbons to hang on your house or on trees? Did you have hats or shirts? Did you give bracelets, bumper stickers or other awareness favors? If so, did you get them online and would you share the web address with me? How much did you sell tickets for? Did you have raffles or silent auctions to raise additional money? Is there anyplace you can go online to give you some ideas and support/advice on this subject? Or if you have done one of these yourself, would you be comfortable sharing information? Thanks

Hello!!
I'm organizing the second Teal Ribbon Golf Tournament scheduled Nov. 12th in Sun City, AZ. We have reserved two adjoining courses for the event. I ordered 9X12" teal plastic bags for goody bags, which will have a donated $10 gift card, some tees, a golfball, 10 symptom cards (one to keep and 9 to share with other women!), a teal ribbon (plastic) lapel pin I purchased online and other smaller items. I've spoken with merchants who've donated golfbags, a framed artpiece, golf hats, balls and more yet to come for doorprizes. Hole sponsorship is available with the amount determined by the donor. Signs will be on sponsored holes. We're making white flags for the greens with a teal ribbon design as well.

Organization and a working committee is key to a successful event. Competition is open to women who are interested in learning more about ovarian cancer and having a fun golf event. Our keynote speaker is a long-term survivor of ovarian cancer.

Congratulations on considering an event to raise awareness and research dollars toward ovarian cancer. Feel free to reply for more information about our tourney.

I played in a tournament this summer and this is the link if you want to contact the organizers for pointers. Good luck
