Doxil

Today's N.Y. times says the FDA has approved the use of Lipodex, from India, supposedly similar to Doxil. The drug will be imported from India and should be available "within a few weeks." FINALLY, something good regarding Doxil,. Best to all.

Even though a new supply is coming the FDA says it is temporary. Please help keep the pressure on J&J to support the US economy by manufacturing Doxil here. http://www.change.org/petitions/janssen-products-lp-bring-back-doxil-to-the -market-immediately

Fantastic news, though as the NYT article says, "we're not out of the woods yet." My research doctor will be especially pleased as she was about to start an FDA-approved trial but was lacking the Doxil to do so. Hopefully it will run now.

I doubt that drug trials will be done with Lipodox in place of Doxil. That is another reason it is so important to keep the pressure on Johnson & Johnson to start manufacturing Doxil again. It is great news that the patients who need Doxil will get the chemical equivalent in Lipodox at least in the short term.
