Dog at my Feet, Kitten on my Shoulder, Surgery Behind Me!

To All my OVCA Friends,

Home from the hospital! FINALLY! After a week being 'held hostage' LOL I'm finally home!

I had a tennis ball sized tumor removed. It was attached to my bowel so the doctor also removed a section of bowel with the tumor. I also had the stent in my ureter replaced with a new one. According to the pre-operative PET scan, the tumor was cancerous, but only partially active, and it will be analyzed to find the most efficacious chemotherapy drug to treat any remaining cells. The doctor said that no other tumors or cancer activity were visible to the naked eye.

Next, a rest. Then, 6 more months of chemo. After that... we'll have to discuss with the Doctor at that time!

Thanks for all the nice cards and letters!

~Kibbie

Sounds like you had a full tune up :). Glad to see you back home. Take it easy and get yourself strong for chemo. Bet the critters were happy to see you home.

Glad to hear you're home. I had a feeling that 2 day estimate was a tad unrealistic, lol.

Surgery sounds like a success. Do you know how long a break you get before chemo?

Just want to say, you are one amazing cookie! Keep on hangin' in there.

I LOVE your sense of humor :) So glad you're home and on your way to feeling better! Keep us updated please :)

Welcome home! Heal well and be strong :)

There's no place like home! So glad that you are back in yours. Sounds like you are doing good, take care of yourself as you recope. Pat the dog and stroke the cat, they have a lot of love for you.

God Bless You

HOORAY! Another victory!

Hope you are up and about soon.

Melissa

welcome home :)

no visible other cancer is great news too.

Sounds like they did a good job for you and I'm glad it's over and you are back home. Now it's time for a little pampering!

Hostage, Eh? I suppose they made you or your insurance company pay ransom, Right? (sorry, couldn't help it.) LOL

Glad to hear all is well...a week in the hospital...you had to come home and get some rest didn't you? Keep getting stronger so you can get the chemo over with!

Welcome home Kibbe and glad everything went well. You are an amazing woman and you never cease to make me smile and sometimes even laugh out loud. Rest and get strong.
Hugs,

Glad you are back home. I kept wondering how your surgery had gone.

I'm so glad to see that things have gone well for you. Wishing you a smooth recovery from the surgery, and an easy time with chemo.

I think that I am a little like you in that I always like to know what the plan and options are at least one step into the future. It seems to take me some time to digest all of the information before making any choices.

Did you have a bowel obstruction?? or just (duh) the toumor with the recurrence?

What symptoms did you have??

Good luck and take care.

Shirl
