Discharge

0 Recommendations

I had a complete hysterectomy and oophorectomy in January, and have had zero discharge since then. Recently I've had a bit of discharge, as one might have between periods, it seems to be a bit bloody. Is this something to be concerned about? I have not idea what it could mean. I wonder if I should call the doctor? Unfortunately I don't have a gyn/onc right now as I am inbetween - switching health plans and haven't seen a new gyn/onc yet.

Cancer Surgery Hysterectomy

I had a discharge for several weeks after surgery, at times with just a pinkish tinge. I saw my surgeon for follow ups and he applied something vaginally to help seal up any opening from internal stitches. You should keep your doctor informed though with any concerns

I did the same for awhile after surgery last August. I had an episode in May where I bled a little, it was bright red. I called my onc and he examined me, everything was fine, and possibly I had lifted something that made that happen, and I remembered I had lifted some boxes. Haven't had anything like that since. By the way, he didn't seemed real alarmed because he said there was nothing in there now to cause bleeding and I had finished my last chemo last January. So when he wasn't too alarmed after examining me, I wasn't either.

I had a pinkish discharge for a while and my doctor examined me and said it was irritated granulosa tissue.
He was concerned that the cancer may have invaded the vaginal cuff and he did some biopsies. which thankfully were benign.
He applied silver nitrate a couple of times and it cleared up along with the discharge.
