cyst? or cancer

0 Recommendations

I am 27 and have posted before. I was completely healthy until a year ago and then everything got bad. I have been sick about a year and was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and slowly started getting better. I have been to numerous doctors who all have thought cancer, however none have pinpointed it.
Now, in the last few months I have been experiencing extreme fatigue and abdominal pressure. I am bloated all the time and I have had numerous changes in my bowels. On Friday I had an laproscopy, and my GYN found a lump of "white scar tissue", behind my uterus. She biopsied it? Has anyone had the same problem or findings? Could it be cancer, I am a virgin therefore I don't know why I would have scar tissue. Help?

Dear rtbrewer,

It's great that you had the surgery and will get a path report right away. I want to share my experience about cyst vs cancer. I had bowel symptoms like yours in 1990. I had a laparoscopy and a benign fluid-filled cyst was removed. Exactly the same thing happened again in 1996. Then in Oct 2008 I had the same symptoms. It took over a month to get in for surgery, but doctors and I all assumed it was ok because it appeared to be a repeat of what I had before. Finally had the laparoscopy on Nov 18 and the gynecologist found cancer and referred me to a gyn-oncologist. He did the major surgery on Dec 1 and determined that I had stage IV ovarian cancer. There's a lesson in this. What you have now may very well be benign, and that's great news! Don't let this scare you...But if you have a repeat, even if everything looks the same, feels the same, appears the same on ultrasound, get it dealt with right away. Don't assume it's the same thing you had before.

Good luck...may is always be benign.
Bev

All I can say is wow. Ya'll are an insperation to me. Thank You, for your replies. I feel bad that I have to come to ya'll with this and you've already been diagnosed. I sometimes feel I'm being so petty but,...
I had the surgery on Monday and hope to have path results in a few days. Thank You So Much. Be in touch soon.

Rtbrewer:
I haven't had white scar tissue but I agree with may27, check it out.

Don't let many of our stories scare you, just be vigilant with your current problems. Symptoms can come on quickly.

I had a normal gyn visit in Nov07, Feb 08 I had symptoms like you, bloating bowel changes etc, and May 08 I had surgery -stage III ovca.

I'm not suggesting this is your problem but talk more with your doctor so you can find out what it is.

Hopefully you will get a clean bill of health . Best wishes!

Hi rbrewer, I do not have exactly the same situation, but just wanted to let you know that I und. where you are having just been diagnosed myself after a routine removal of a cyst on my left ovary. I had the same feeling you had, bloating, fullness, etc. the important thing is to get checked out thoroughly. i will pray for a clean path. report for you!
