This is going to check that her organs are working okay, i.e. liver, kidney, etc. It is routine during chemo to have this prior to every treatment. They should also do a CBC and CA125. The metabolic testing is to make sure the treatment is not too toxic to the organs necessary to filter it out of your body. The CBC tells how your blood count has been affected and whether it is safe to give the full dose of chemo and of course the CA125 is to see how it is working with regard to the tumors.

If she's getting platinum, she should get a magnesium level and prealbumin.

can you tell me why you saying magnesium level and prealbumin in relation to platinum /
what significance it has ? I mean magnesium and prealbumin level ?
