I know that there isn't very many of us at this stage, but I sure would like to hear your stories. Recurrances? Remissions and how long.

I've been in remission for alittle over 5 years. Had a big scare in 2006 but turned out to be nothing.

Let me hear from you gals!

Hi Bonnie...I was diagnosed with stage II last November. Just finished treatments and seem to be doing well. I had a lymphocyst develop right after surgery that was still there last week when I had my CT scan. That worries me but both of my dr's say it is fluid filled and came so soon after surgery that it is highly likely just fluid bec they took out so many lymphnodes for testing. My ca125 is very low as well, so I am trying not to worry. I have heard of a few others having this as well, so that gives me a bit of comfort that it is truly nothing to worry about.

Sounds like you are doing extremely well....congrats!

I was diagnosed Stage 2 this past November. Finished chemo the end of March. Had a PET scan last week. I meed with my onc Wed. to go over the results. My CA125 is down to 5. That is great you are over the 5 year mark!

Hi Bonnie,

First of all, congratulations for being in remission for over 5 years!

I was diagnosed Nov. 08 with Stage II, had total hysterectomy and just finished with 8 rounds of taxotere/carbo and now weaning off the chemo medication. The doctor is very pleased with my numbers and showed me a graph he made to show how drastically they dropped after surgery and have stayed low and consistant. I go for a thorough checkup in about 4 weeks and then go for a PET scan the first of July when all the chemo is out of my system. This will be the baseline and we will make appointments after that.

We talked about clinical trial with Avastin only but he is not convinced I truly qualify. More discussion will follow.

I wish you well and another 20 + years in remission!

Hi, another Stage II here. I was diagnosed in May 2008 after I miscarried. I had a transvaginal u/s, CA-125 (339) then a CT Scan. The mass was 11 cm and my Obstetrician worries anytime it is over 10. The CT Scan showed the mass, but no ascites, and my primary care, OB, and gynecologic onc stated "if we were betting people, it does not look like cancer". After the surgery, my gyn onc said she opened up the mass during surgery and all she could think was "damn, it's cancer". I had 16 biopsies of lymph nodes, washings, other organs during the hysterectomy and all were clear. I did 6 rounds of carbo/taxol between June and October 2008. Have been in remission since. CA-125 is 5. No masses found in PET Scan or through exams.

I wish all of us 20+ years in remission! And yes, there seems to be a lot of Stage III's here, but few Stage II's. I guess I'm lucky.

Bonnie
I guess I am stage II. I was told IC but in reading what is stage II, I fit the bill: both ovaries and 1 fallopian tube. 16cm tumor. Anyway, My CA125 was 1600 prior to hysterectomy and debulking surgery in June 2008. None of the 15 lymph glands showed cancer cells. Chemo started in July and finished in Nov.

Unfortunately I have had trouble with my CA125 coming down. It got to 22 after the 3rd chemo and then rose to 75 in Jan. In March it was back down to 28. PET scan in Feb was clear. I will have another CA125 done in June.

I am feeling fine other than the neuropathy in the feet. But the CA125 worries me.

Congratulations for making the 5 year mark. We all have that goal, but must take it a month (day) at a time.
Pat

Hi,

I was stage 2B, had 6 carbo/taxols and have been in remission since November, 2007. I still have neuropathy in my feet, and a tiny bit in my fingers. My worst aftereffect is increased reflux, resulting in the loss of my singing voice. I can still talk and haven't given up on singing again. (I can sing, I just don't sound good anymore.)

I had a lymphocele, too, and my gyn/onc said the same thing. It's smaller with every CT scan.

Blessings.

Hello!

Another Stage II here. I was diagnosed in June 2008 after surgery.

In may, I had a transvaginal u/s, CA-125 (32) then a CT Scan. The main mass on my colon was 12 cm and it showed another mass on my ovary.

I had a 2nd surgery to remove what turned out to be a a benign cyst, and had several lymph nodes tested along with washings. Everything turned out clear.

I did 6 rounds of carbo/taxol between July and October 2008. Have been in remission since. CA-125 is 5. No masses found in PET Scan or through exams.

I really appreiciate hearing from all of you. Sounds like you gals are doing pretty good. You are all pretty recent with your treatments. I pray that you all make that 5 year anniversary like I did.

Keep us all updated.

Take Care! Bonnie:)

Another stage II but that was... 11 years ago? Time sure does fly. I had a scare 3 years after my treatment, but it turned out to be a benign little nothing. I have an occasional ovarian cyst, but nothing to write home about.

I'm such a horrible patient and can never remember my chemos... Cisplatin, VP-16, Cytoxan... there was another, but I always forget the name.

Hope this helped a little xD

Wow, 11 years ago, that's awesome! I think I would love to forget my chemo names also! I finished chemo the end of March. Just seeing sprouts of hair on my arms and legs. YEA!

Hello,

Just found out the day after Easter.Had a hysterecomny in Mar.Told I had stage 1 ovary and uterus and cervix was stage 2.Dr recommend I get treatments of chemo.Had the first won Apr 22 thought it went fairly well,Second one coming up May 13.I was told that is when your hair starts to fall out.Any one with opinions on that subject.Sorry for any mispelled wordsHope everyone does well with remission and treatments

Fran

Oh man, I remember my hair coming back curly! I just shaved it off and let it grow in straight again (the way it's always been).

Have you been bitten by a mosquito yet? They avoid you like the plague when you're on chemo, but get a little braver when you're off and kind of die while drinking your blood. It's pretty amusing and a bit scary, haha!

Hello girls,
I am new to this site. I was diagnosed a stage IIB in June 2009. I am taking my last chemo treatment tomorrow. Yea!!!!! I was also looking for stage II survivors. Wanted to know about re-occurances and any other problems. Had a CT scan last week, all clear. CA-125 is an 8. I was trying to get that number lower, but the oncologist says that is a fine number. Hope to hear from you all soon. Thank-You.
