After two years, its finally gone. I got my port removed this past Friday. All is well, except for a reaction to whatever they swabbed me with(itchy and bumpy). Hopefully I will never need one again!!!!!

Congrats!!!!!!!!
May you dance with NED forever!

Yay!!!! GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!! I know you must be elated to be rid of that old thing. Have a happy, happy day!!

Great news!!!

Awesome! I can't wait to get rid of mine. It's so itchy!

Yeah!! Congrats... :)Kim

It's been more than 2 years since I finished chemo and I'm just getting my IP port removed next week. I'm keeping my IV port, although the doctor usually likes to remove both at the same time. If I need chemo again, tho, I can't have a port on the other side of my chest because I have a pacemaker there. It would be hard to put another port where I have mine now because of scar tissue. So I didn't want to take any chances of having to use my arm. I don't know how long I'll keep my IV port (even if I don't need chemo again), but it's my security blanket for now!

So happy to hear your great news.................Take care......

Great news!!!

Hooray! We removed mine at the end of March. I had a little itching again last week. I think the tissues had finally grown together from the inside out and were finally reaching the surface. It's almost all stopped now.

You know, how we get just a little anxious whenever we have a CA125? I had one drawn last week and just knew something was wrong. I've been tired, headachy, constipated, and just knew that CA125 would be bad.

Of course, I ignored the fact that it was the last week of school, and I had a gazillion things I had to do this week! My CA125 came back exactly the same. It must have been separation anxiety!

Congratulations! Maybe we should all mark port removals as a big celebration and have an annual port-a-party!

Yeah!!! I am so happy for you!! Great day for sure!! Can't wait to get mine out :)

Blessings and hugs!!!

Congrats! I've had a port since 11/99. No problems with it and it's sure been handy for blood draws etc. I think of it as my "port in a storm"!! Guess I'll leave it where it is.

Fantastic, Congrats, and enjoy. Mine is in my left breast, I will be so happy someday when I get rid of mine. Many happy NED years ahead.

Now I'm itchy. But not at the incision site. My entire left boob and up the left side of my neck is red, bumpy and itchy. Been told to take Benedryl and that has helped. But its still there.(the bumpiness)

Wonderful news! Sending good thoughts for a lifetime remission.

Congrats hun!
I'm so happy to hear that you're "port free" now.
