has anyone taken the immuno power supplements mentioned in Patrick Quillin's book "Beating Cancer with Nutrition" post chemo - they are a little pricey and just wondering if there has been any first hand info/success on them posted here in the past too-
I'm taking something called Immucare I, sold by Natura. (Natura.com) It is a mix of 15 Chinese herbs used a lot in Asia for cancer. It is cheaper than ImmuPower and so far, it is working for me. The man who came up with this formula is a master herbalist named Donald Yance, who has specialized in treating cancer for years. He was just appointed to the staff of Mayo clinic because his patients are doing so much better than anyone else's.

Yes, I have been taking ImmunoPower since the second week of January 2009. I think it helped me to be strong enough for a second surgery in Feb 2009 and to continue chemo about 4 weeks later. I did still have nausea from chemo and some neuropothy in my toes but I missed some days of ImmunoPower when I felt the worst. I have completed all my chemo now and have seemed to bounce back to feeling more normal pretty quickly. Everyone says I look really good, although I have a yellowish color which I think must be from the high doses of Vitamin A and beta caratene in the ImmunoPower.
I have also changed my diet and am now drinking veggie drinks that I make up from raw (mostly organic) vegetables with my VitaMix blender (an essential tool). I haven't had any more experience than this, but hope this helps out some. My last CT scan showed no signs of cancer and I was diagnosed with stage IIIC in early Nov 2008 and had a complete hysterectomy then.
Thank you so much for getting back to me - glad to hear that you had a postive response to the supplement - also so glad that you are feeling good and your scan was clear - i am also determined to change my diet and have increased my intake of fresh/organic fruits and vegetables using lean/organic meats as a side dish - i was also diagnosed with IIIC in Dec. of 2008 and just finished chemo last week - I am feeling really good too - I pray we will both continue on this good path -
