Amyloxine

1 Recommendation

I am helping care for my precious 40 year old cousin who has been diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. She has completed 3 rounds of chemo, but found out today that it is not operable because the cancer in the abdominal area is too wide spread. Being sent home for 3 more rounds of chemo. Has anyone gone to see Dr. Truitt in Neuvo Laredo, Mexico -- or tried amyloxine treatments for ovarian cancer? Please help, we need information.

I've never heard of Amyloxine. The standard treatment for ovarian cancer is Carbo/Taxol. I have stage iv as well. I was treated with 8 rounds of carbo/taxol prior to surgery in order to get rid of as much of the cancer as possible. Then I had more chemo after surgery. Does your cousin live in Mexico? Can she see someone in the US? Don't give up, please.

Yes, she does live in the US and has been treated wtih 3 rounds of Carbo/Taxol. Had hoped to have surgery this week, but has been sent home for 3 more rounds of chemo (they will be adding an additional drug to the chemo mix). We definitely will not give up.

Some surgeons are more aggressive than others. Shop around to see if one will do surgery. I was stage IV at diagnosis and believe that I'm alive today because my GYN oncologist was a "bulldog" who would not give up. Never heard of Amyloxine but have heard that some of the Mexican clinics are scams. If the platinum/taxol mixture is not working, get the oncologist to try something different. I'm on my third chemo. The first two stopped working.

What chemo mixture are you using now?

Just saw a news report on a new drug by Merck -- MK 2206 -- being tested at START in San Antonio for advanced stages of ovarian and other cancers. Has anyone had experience with this or heard about it?

Notdone, Is your cousin in Texas? If so, get her and her mmedical records to MD Anderson for a second opinion. There are several Comprehensive Cancer Centers throughout the US that have excellent resources for treating difficult OvCa cases. I hope that you can take advantage of one of them.

Shearaw,
Yes, she is in Texas and has been to MD Anderson. Thanks for your detailed description of your journey and of the medicines that you have used in chemo and in trials. All of that may prove to be very helpful as we move forward. I will pray for you as you continue your journey. Please add my cousin to your prayer list.

Gemzar and carboplatin. If this doesn't control the cancer, will get Avastin next.

Quacker,
Thanks for the info. My cousin has been taking carboplatin and taxol. The pelvic area has responded well, the abdominal area has not responded. They are talking about adding Avastin for the next 3 rounds. If I hear of any additional information regarding amyloxine or MK 2206 I will let you know. These are both in clinical trials. I will keep you in my prayers. Please add my cousin to your prayers.

I am taking a Merck drug called Vorinstat along with carbo and gemzar for my first recurrence. I am in a phase I study for the Vorinstat at Mass. General and Dana Farber. Don't know if it is the one you mentioned. Just began it, so I can't comment other than I am nauseous.

Zircons,
Please keep me posted. I pray that your nausea will subside or be able to be managed and that this drug will restore your body to health.
Blessings and hope,

Stick with the chemo. Is her tumor shrinking, markers going down? What does the onc say?
Is there a chance that they might give her Intraperitoneal chemo ( directly into the peritoneal cavity)?
Just because they couldn't operate doesn't mean the chemo (this round or another or another) won't work. You need to talk to the doc's. Find out what their plan is. Ask questions.
Try to find a support group, specifically for gyn cancers if possible. People in the same situation have ALOT of info. Start getting more info, talk to people (like us!), figure out what information you need/want.
As for amyloxine...you can google it. Sounds like quakish stuff to me.
Avastin can be very helpful.

Just fyi, I am on my fifth round of chemo since 2003. Lots of surgery, lots of everything.
Hang in there. Think positive. Get info, ask questions.

Wish your cousin well please. She is lucky to have such an advocate in you!

Her tumors in the pelvic area are shrinking -- actually can't even be felt any more in a physical exam -- and her CA125 count was dropping dramatically. The problem is -- the tumors in the abdominal area are too widespread for surgery. They are going for a second opinion tomorrow. Looks like adding Avastin may be the next step. They have discussed IP chemo -- have you had experience with that? If so, is there anything I need to know as her caretaker that will be different than IV chemo? Also, have you had experience with Avastin? Any helpful hints for a caretaker to help manage side effects with this new drug?

I can't tell you how helpful this support group has been. Thanks so much for answering my questions. My prayer list is getting long -- but please know that I pray for each of you by name -- or at least by screen name. :)

Blessings and hope...

You are a wonderful person.
Sounds like there is some good response so far. Thats terrific.
Aastin , gemzar, carbo combo was a breeze for me. Then I had avastin by itself. My major issues were a runny nose and horse voice, actually horse one minute, ok the next. I didn't have any other side effects. There are some that the doc will watch for and should tell you and your cousin to watch fornas well. If not, ASK. Always ask!
I have had IP chemo--Cisplatnin IP/taxol IV. It can be challenging for some, not so for others.
How are you doing with the caregiving so far--is she eating, able to do things etc? Anything we can help w vis a vie side effects etc?

Are you taking care of yourself? Please make sure to do that.

Thanks for your prayers. They are much appreciated.

She is doing a great job of eating. Has maintained her weight through 3 cycles of chemo. Usually 1st 2 days of the cycle are okay -- the next 5 days are really yucky (that's when I come to help). The next 5-7 days she is really tired and fatigued but rebuilding. The last 7 days she feels pretty good and can do things with her kids and get out and sort of feel normal.

I am fine -- pooped a couple of days after the tough 5 days -- but fine. It is amazing how God provides strength for each new day. We have learned to not waste today's energy on tomorrow's issues -- we live in the moment -- and truly try to enjoy every day -- every minute possible. We rest in His green pastures.

As we move into this next phase I will be sure to ask questions -- we had just kind of figured out what we were doing -- I guess that is why it is time to change things up a bit! haha

Have a blessed evening with restoring rest -- may tomorrow bring a beautiful day for you.

Hi,
I can tell you that Dr. Truitt isn't a quack. He is very smart and was asked to be on the board to find a cure for Aids. He later decided to direct his attention to heart disease and cancer. He does the research and has improved the Amyloxine over and over.
If you haven't called and asked for information, then do so. He will look at your cousins medical report and give her his comment. He will speak to you directly and answer all your questions.
No treatment is 100% . It depends on the person and many other factors. I can tell you that he has helped many people.
My mom was one of them. She had breast cancer, and has been free for 10 years. She even had shingles, and he told her it would go away. It did and has never returned.
Another friend had breast cancer in 2004 and still cancer free. My friend's husband has been treated, and he is doing well.
He treats all cancers. It doesn't kill the good cells-only the cancer cells.
Just get the information and discuss it with him. If you don't feel right about it, then go with the other treatments. Pray about it and ask the Lord to guide you. I'll be praying that you will find the answer for your cousin.

God bless,
Westtexaswoman

I received Amyloxine in Dec. and I feel wonderful. Although I have melanoma I found out about Dr. Truitt because of a woman with ovarian cancer who had received all that they could do for her at MD Anderson. She received Amyloxine and changed to a plant-based diet and is doing great 6 yrs. later. I myself and 2 others that I know personally have chosen Amyloxine and severe restriction of animal products in our diet and we are doing very well. Please don't be afraid of going to Mexico. There are sooo many success stories! I just joined to let you know and would be happy to talk to you more.

Dear Lookup,

It is so nice to see another success story from Dr. Truitt. Thank you for writing in. Truly exciting to know an ovarian cancer patient is still doing well after 6 years. There are doctors and nurses from MD Anderson that gets their cancer treatment from Truitt.

My mom isn't on a special diet, and has been clear for 10 years. Was that choice? It is always good to watch your diet.

I have told so many people, but most will seek traditional chemo and radiation. All I can do is give the informtion, and everyone has to decide.

So wonderful for you and your friend. Would like to talk to you more. Could you send me an email?
Blessings,
Westtexaswoman
