Dear Ovarian Cancer Community Member:

The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance is dedicated to saving the lives of women who have or will have ovarian cancer by being the foremost advocate in the United States to find a cure for the disease.

You are among the thousands of voices in our community, of women who live with the disease, of loved ones of those who are gone and of people personally touched by an ovarian cancer journey.

Together, I believe we can improve the lives of these women by sharing our knowledge and pooling our influence. To that end, I want to join you at our upcoming 12th Annual Ovarian Cancer National Alliance Conference in Washington, D.C. from July 6th to 8th and for Lobby Day on Capitol Hill on July 9th.

This year, our goal is to register 300 Conference attendees. With the help of our grassroots support communities, this is more than possible and it's vital. I understand these are difficult times for everyone; but the need to press on and fight for an ovarian cancer test or a cure can't be allowed to fall victim to this recession.

It is not too late to register. Your attendance matters more than ever as the energy surrounding the progress being made in health care reform, new research findings, clinical trials, and the overall political commitment to funding research on an early detection test and better treatments has galvanized the ovarian cancer community as never before.

This year's Celebration of Life Conference is designed to empower you to use your stories, your voices, and your commitment to be part of the overall fight against ovarian cancer. We have a wonderful lineup of speakers, discussions and workshops that will challenge, delight, educate and inspire you. Most of all, we will be paying tribute to the memory of the 150,000 women lost to ovarian cancer during the past decade.

I look forward to seeing all of you in a few weeks at the Conference. In the meantime, please visit our Conference Web site at www.ovariancancer.org/conference or call the office at 202.331.1332 if you still need to register, have any additional questions or requests regarding the upcoming program.

With warm regards,

Karen Orloff Kaplan, MPH, ScD
