A new drug

0 Recommendations

I just saw on the ABC nightly news a blurb about a new drug that is working well with both breast and ovarian cancers that have previously been resistant to other drugs. I didn't get the name or all the details, so if interested, you can probably go to ABC's website.

Hi i saw it too.Its a PARP inhibitor called Olaparib(AZD2281)for BRCA 1 2 positive ovca. Its made by astra zeneca.its supposed to work in 2/3 of patients tested.I looked and there is not a lot of trials going on but a few places in the us.Most seems to be overseas in the UK.Keep Positive.

Hi, is it only for BRCA 1-2 positive women?

My hubby works for another pharm company that is developing a similar drug to work in conjunction with the one from Astra Zenaca. He is VERY excited about it's potential. It has been tested on a few end-stage ovca patients and the results have been extremely good.

The drug is called PARP inhibitors which kills cancer cells and could be ready in 1-2 years. Hang in there, ladies! This article published in the New England Journal of Medicine is creating great excitement. You can read about it below:
