Stoma Issues

I had my ileostomy end of Aug and cannot get the stoma site to heal. It is raw, and very red and sore. I can not use paste as I feel I am on fire. I have been using Ekin but I keep breaking through. I am having to change my bag every other day. I did get some help from a nurse, I don't know what I am doing wrong. My stoma is not very protruding, it is set in a bit and is on the left and unfortunatley my 62 years has left me with some creases in the area. Does anyone have suggestions for evening the area of the stoma to keep the bag from leaking. I am so frustrated and upset with myself. On top of all this I just spent 4 days in the hospital for dehydration. Will I ever be just me again? Please help.
