Some great news!!!

I feel a need to share some great news in the midst of our coping with this 'new normal'.....
I'm not sure just how this happened (well technically heehee!) but both my sons' significent other had babies due within 2 weeks of each other! lol Well on Fri. Sept. 14th son #2 & wife had a baby girl! (that's 2 daughters for them yea!) Then on Sun. Sept. 23rd son #1 & fiance had a baby boy! (2nd son for each...Ben had a boy from prev marriage & Jen had a son & daughter from prev!!). (hubby's birthday was also the 23rd lol!)
So that makes 9 grandbabies (including 'step') to hug & kiss & love on to no end!! lol They give me reason to fight every day to get healthier...to enjoy life to the fullest. Hubby & I are trying to smile & laugh alittle more....& stress (just alittle?) less each day!
Thru my cancer journey we know 1st hand how life can change on a dime...how you may need to rethink your goals your plans your life in general. We're determined to make the best of this journey...to the best of our ability! lol No we didn't ask to 'be sick...to have an ostomy...to have our lives turned upside down. But we can fight...rethink our journey.
When I wake up each morning....I feel blessed to have another day to enjoy (inspite of the aches & pains I may feel lol!). So today I chose to see my new grandson (my son #2 lives in PA but we skype heehee) & hug Collyn while enjoying sweet baby smells (hey I can dream right lol).
May you all have a blessed day & can smile at least alittle in the midst of our crazy 'storms'!! ;~}

Peggy, wonderful news. And all within nine days. I'm sure the happy grandmother is excited. I hope you continue to feel the excitement you are feeling right now.
Blessings,
Alan

Peggy, Congratulations!! How wonderful! You are right.. there is a day to be blessed, each and every day we awaken.
Enjoy those wonderful grandbabies.... Some day, I too dream of being a Grandmother and smothering them with love and affection.

Thank you for fantastic news, well worth smiling for! and.. THanks for the technology that allows SKYPE so you can experience your little grandchild!.

I have two wonderful grandchildren! I understand the joy they bring. I am so happy that you have 9 bright spots in the middle of your storm to focus your energies on. Life moves forward for all of us. Sometimes there are forks in the road, but if we stay positive and grateful for the health we have, we can still enjoy the precious moments and people in our lives. Never waste a minute! Life is precious!

Thank you all!! I seen my newest grandson today...what a true blessing he is! :)

the day I had my last Chemo treatment they got me in early as my daughter was in labor and about to have her daughter they brought me in and gave me the best seat in the house it was by far one of the greatest highlights of my life. within 12 hours my daughter got bacterial meningitis and could not have the bond with the daughter that she should so I was able to step in I stayed at the hospital for 3 days withthe baby in the room to make sure I was strong enough to watch her and I was the one who unfortunitally had bring the baby home from the hospital my granddaughter and I stayed home from work for 2 additional weeks spending alot of time just sleeping and crying together as I could not see my daughter due to my immune system and her sickness she got out of the hospital 1 month after baby and to this day I do have a certain bond withthe granddaughter that the others are jeolous of but I did what I had and nature / nuture took over I have 9 grandchildren 2 weeks to 14 yrs and I love them all but my last chemo will never be forgotten.

Peggy, that is wonderful news!! It's so nice to hear some of these kinds of stories and how precious the days become when we're blessed with new life in our familys. I don't have any grandchildren just yet, but I have grand-doggies that are 6 weeks old now and I am IN LOVE! But, I love your attitude and I am so happy for you!

Jaz, how great is it that you were there to fill in for your daughter..who else would I want if that had happened to me? I would want my mom and you were there and still are! You are so blessed and your family too! What a heart warming story for us all! Thanks for sharing!

Big happy hugs to you both!

Peggy - that is great news - children are great, but grandchildren seem to be a bigger blessing - we can hand them back to their mommy! I have gone one better - between my husband and me (we have only been married 9 1/2 years) we have 6 great-grandchildren - they range in age from 10 years to a few months. The two oldest - my granddaughter's children - the 10 year old and her 9 year old sister - live 2 hours away so I get to see them, but the other 4 are too far away and we have to live with pictures. Glad to hear that your daughter is home from the hospital and that you are able to be with her to help with her precious little bundle.

Love and hugs, Marge
