Prayers

Hi everyone, well Issac is over and the Panhandle was not effected at least where I live. Very little rain, high winds but we are all safe. Just wanted to say thanks to all my friends and family and this support group for your prayers and thoughts. Hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to hearing about the great news, stories and laughs from everyone. God Bless

Bana, thank God for the good news. Happy that it was not as bad as other places who were hit. I pray you are all settled down and may God continue to bless you.

Glad to hear you made it through the storm. We are supposed to have a few thunderstorms in the next couple days wich will be welcomed. Hasn't rained in a while. Im in Ten.

Glad to read that you are safe. We are expecting rain here in Louisville, Kentucky from Isaac this weekend. Stay safe.
Blessings,
Alan

Hi Bana57, I'm in Pensacola too! Not my first hurricane. We lost almost everything in Ivan in 2005. I don't live near the water anymore. I love Pensacola, though. Just something we have to learn to live with.

I have an ostomy from a perforated colon after a routine colonoscopy in September 2011. I'm doing well now, but found out recently that even though the original (trauma) surgeon performed the ostomy so that it could be easily reversed (he said), it cannot be reversed without a great deal of risk, given the terrible infections I got when he left a sponge in me during my second surgery. He never even mentioned it to me afterwards, and I found out when the Health Dept. notified me that he was under investigation for it.

I found a great colo-rectal surgeon here and feel a lot better now that I can go to him if I have any complications and for a colonscopy in the future. My colostomy was performed in such a way (with a few inches of colon left) that finding the two ends within all the scar tissue left by my huge abdominal wound, would be very difficult and not advisable.

I'm resigned to this, but I wish I had a "regular" stoma and not the double loop I have. Because of belly fat, and the deep creases on each side of the stoma, it's very hard to get a good seal on my bag. I have to use a one-piece bag because it has to be flexible to fit into the creases. Can't keep it on more than 2 days.

Anyway, keep your chin up, and let's pray for the rest of the hurricane season to be very quiet. Ivan hit us on Sept. 16.
