I told my neurologist whom I see for dysautonomia that I keep getting really short of breath with very little exsertion, just like walking a few feet or up a few stairs, so she ordered a pulmonary function test and chest x-ray, on the PFT I got a 63% for volume or capacity or something, but the chest x-ray looked pretty good, anyways my neurologist said that something is restricting my airways, so its restrictive unlike asthma that is obstructive..never had asthma or allergies as a kid or teenager, i'm now 26 yrs old. So she said I need to see a pulmonary specialist as soon as possible, she couldn't get me in for a few weeks with the ne she wanted me to see, so she told me to call my PCP and see if they could get me in somewhere sooner, so I did, they set me up withing a few days with a dr close to y home, I went in there and he asked how I felt I said not good and told him about the shortness of breath, sharp pains on my left side of my chest that come and go, and extreme fatigue. He said my test (PFT) looked fine..so now I'm confused, my PCP said it didn't look good, and my neurologist said it didn't look good, so I called my neurologist and she is going to call and get the pulmonary specialists notes and see whats up, meanwhile I really don't feel well, and yesturday and today I've been getting numbness/tingling in my right hand/fingers so now I'm worried, should I be? They gave me an albuteral inhaler and another one, one to take every 12 hours (which makes my mouth really, really dry) and one to take as an emergency one..I read the pamphlets and they said those types are used for asthma and bronchitis which I have none of, and they don't even help anyways.....Does anyone have any suggestions,a lso i'm dizzy/lightheaded a lot more then usual... I'm really concerned about what might be going on and what might happen, since I don't ever fit the norm for my age and build. I have:
Dysautonomia (non-familial)
Severe gastroparesis (w/ J-tube)
Fatigue
On/off anemia/low WBC's and Platelets w/ iron deficiency
Vitamin D deficiency
Osteoporosis
Something wrong w/ my hip where I'll need a total hip replacement by the time I'm 30 yrs old if not sooner
Calcifications on my ribs
pituitary microadenoma
and am being worked up by an endocrine specialist who deals with bone problems associated w/ gi disorders, he did a ton of bloodwork (waiting on results), I have to do a 24 hr urine collection, and a saliva Cortisol? test 2 nights in a row.
