Toady was very long. Jake had his disempaction this afternoon. His surgeon found several blockages in different parts of his colon, one located next to his cecostomy tube. The doctor suggested we try running through a bottle of mag. citrate a 1/2 hour before his regular flush once a week. But he also said if this doesn't work there is a chance that the cecostomy might not be right for Jake. There is a possibility that he might have to go back to the colostomy. He did say there are other things we can try, but he doesn't think they would be good for him, due to him not having any sensation of needing to have a bm.
After that I go into post op to find him vomiting, he did that for an hour, with zofran and reglan on board. They later tried phenegren, it did settle his tummy and he feel asleep. They sent us home, a 3 hour drive. We almost made it before he started vomiting again, good thing I have zofran at home. He's finally asleep. if he continues I will call the doctor in the morning.
