I am new to the Inspire community with a search for those coping with GSS, a rare genetic disorder affecting 1 in 10,000,000. My wife passed a year ago and I am interested in members with families affected also. I have very little information about the current research areas dedicated to the disease and any help woul dbe appreciated.
Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker disease. Right now I have heard about Indiana University and Sanfrancisco University and reasearch. I have also known about a lab in Chicago researching as well. If you know of any other sites, please share. This disease does not have a cure yet, and the symptoms are shared with so many other diseases, very hard to diagnose if you do not know your family has had it.
